The space Daphne House is a well lit and ventilated 4 BHK self serviced apartment with 3 bathrooms - two attached bath and one common bath. ** A slight drawback of the property is that about 30 stairs need to be climbed to reach the ground floor followed by another 15 stairs as the apartment is located on the 2nd floor. ** WE DO NOT RECOMMEND the property if visiting guests are elderly or have difficulty climbing staircases. Please do have a look at the photographs of the entrance to the property before booking with us as we’d be disheartened to get a low score review despite being transparent and mentioning this drawback. - - - - - - - - - - A P P R O A C H - - - - - - - - - - - - Cars reach upto the building main gate. Mall road to Daphne House by car takes 5 mins. Taxis typically charge Rs.250 for a drop from Mall Road. Walking to Daphne House from Mall Road takes 15-20 mins. - - - - - - - - G U E S T * A C C E S S - - - - - - - - - Daphne House is located on the 2nd floor of a 5 floored building with its own private access. The other floors are occupied by Camellia school and is family run. If you are a late riser, there will be a bit of noise from children entering the school compound just before 8:30AM (Monday to Friday). It gets quiet once classes commence. - - - - - - - - - L I V I N G * R O O M - - - - - - - - - - The living room has a 55 inch TV loaded with OTT platforms – Netflix, Hotstar and Amazon Prime – and is also well stocked with books and board games. A dining area with a dining table to accommodate 6 people adjoins the living room. ** The living room has a small balcony from where you can get a glimpse of our famous snow clad Kanchenjunga. - - - - - - - - - - - B E D R O O M - - - - - - - - - - - - BEDROOM 1 - The master bedroom has an attached bathroom. It opens to a balcony which has a fantastic view of the many small hamlets which line Darjeeling town - greenery at its best on a bright sunny day. ** The balcony is spacious enough to enjoy your evening conversation, drink and smoke while staring into the many lights from the hamlets in the dark. BEDROOM 2 - This room has an attached bathroom. BEDROOM 3 & 4 - They share a common bathroom. Bedroom 1 is the largest with sufficient space for lounge seating while Bedroom 2, 3 & 4 are compact and of the same size. ** All beds are equipped with premium 8-inch mattresses & complimentary electric bed warmers. ** All bathrooms have individual hot water geysers for bathing. There is no hot water supply in the wash basins. ** Slippers, bath towels, toothbrush, tooth paste, toilet paper, body shower gel, shampoo and soap are standard amenities provided for all guests. - - - - - - - - - - - - K I T C H E N - - - - - - - - - - - - - It is equipped with a 2 stove LPG gas burner, microwave, toaster and fridge with adequate and necessary utensils and crockery. Drinking water is provided in 20ltr packaged drinking bottles. A hot water geyser is available above the kitchen sink to help aid washing of utensils during the cold. ** Guests are expected & requested to wash utensils by themselves after use as this is a self service apartment. ** Our staff can provide DISH WASHING SERVICES for a CHARGE OF Rs.250 per wash. Other things to note We can arrange taxis for pick up - drop from the airport / train station and for sightseeing. For food, you have the option to use our fully equipped kitchen if you prefer to cook. Alternatively, you can order from restaurants via delivery apps like Zomato. Please note that restaurants in Darjeeling close early, so it's best to place your orders before 8:30 PM. If you need groceries, there are local stores just a minute’s walk from the apartment, where you can find essentials like oil, salt, vegetables, milk, bread, and more.
