Located in Shandaken NY, Pine Hill Chateau is a recently renovated house that has the thoughtful charm to be your home away from home, but also includes many of the in-home amenities you might expect from a resort hotel. Nestled by Shandaken Wild Forest, this house is only a 5 min drive to Belleayre Mountain, 30 min drive to Hunter Mountain, and approximately 35 min drive to Windham Mountain. Shandaken STR License # 2023-STR-AO-45 Enjoy your morning coffee by the wood burning fireplace, gazing out the picture window into the lush foliage, or an afternoon cocktail al fresco on our patio overlooking the large yard surrounded by trees. We have everything you need for the perfect getaway, whether you love hiking, skiing, relaxing, cooking, adventuring or all of the above. The Living Room is our favorite spot to enjoy in the house. Lounge on the leather sofas and gaze out the picture windows to enjoy the view of lush foliage, switch on the Smart TV (where you can easily sign into your Netflix, Hulu, or other streaming account) for movie night or the big game, or enjoy a one of our board games with your group. The living room is adjacent to the kitchen which has an expansive island and stools for gathering around and a dining room with enough seating for your group to dine together. Sleeping Arrangements Pine Hill Chateau has 7 traditional bedrooms and can sleep 16 guests. With 3 King Size Bedrooms, 3 Queen Size Bedrooms, and 1 bedroom with a bunk bed, you will find room for your entire group to spread out. All bedrooms feature Casper Mattresses, quality linens and are thoughtfully decorated. Smart TVs are in two of the bedrooms as well where you can easily sign into your Netflix, Hulu, or other streaming account. The entire house has central air so you can keep it to your groups preferred temperature. The Kitchen The Kitchen is equipped with all new appliances and finishes as well as cooking utensils, pots and pans, and basically all the tools you need to make morning pancakes, spaghetti Bolognese dinner, and everything in between. (Groceries not provided.) For morning coffee, there is a coffee machine, please feel free to bring along your favorite roast. You will find all the dish ware, serve ware, and drink ware you need for such a large group to dine, but don’t worry, we have you covered with a dishwasher too. Bathrooms There are 3 bathrooms at Pine Hill Chateau. All of them have shower & bathtubs, perfect for filling with bubbles or salts to kick back and relax. Each bathroom has a spacious shower with rain shower head and are stocked with toiletries, a hair dryer in each, and super plush towels. Outdoors Step outside and you will find a back porch deck that leads you down to an al fresco dining area. If BBQ-ing is your thing, we have you covered with a propane grill. An extra tank is provided in case the one there runs low and needs to be swapped out. Further out in the yard is a fire pit surrounded with Adirondack chairs for your entire group to gather around. We provide you with a fire starter kit and a good amount of wood for multiple nights of fires. For the kiddos (and parents) As parents ourselves, we understand the fun and challenges that come with traveling with kids. We’ve stocked our home with creature comforts to make your stay with smaller guests more enjoyable. For dining we have BPA free plastic dinnerware and cups for the kids as well as a highchair for our smallest of guests. Our home has a pack and play, a baby Björn bouncer, wipeable changing table, and a skip hop activity center. We have a handful of wood toys and books for your kiddo’s enjoyment. In the kitchen drawers, you'll find outlet covers should you need them for your stay. Lastly, we have a (non Wi-Fi) baby monitor you can use thru your stay, perfect for keeping an eye on your sleeping kids while you enjoy the firepit under the stars. On the property, you will find parking for up to 10 cars. Guest can enjoy the privacy of the entire house, private deck, fire pit and seating areas around the yard. The check-in will be contact-less. Before your arrival, you will be given the code to access the house. If you have any question or issues during your stay, please message us through the booking channel. There are two markets nearby as well as a wine & liquor store for your convenience. This house is so well located that you will find great Food & Drink options moments away, including Mary’s Cookin, Peekamoose Restaurant, Tito Bandito’s, J Roccoss Creekside Grill and Oakleys Wood-Fired & Pizza Grill. If you are looking for the great outdoors, there’s something for everyone - year-round. At Belleayre (just 5 minutes away) you’ll find skiing in the winter, and come summer - swimming, boating, kayaking, stand up paddle boarding, picnicking, horseshoe pits, volleyball, basketball, fishing, great relaxation and so much more. Catskill Thunder Gondola to the summit of Belleayre Mountain provides breathtaking views of the Catskill Forest Preserve. A quick 30 min drive to the base of the ski side of Hunter Mountain you will have 320 skiable acres, 67 trails, 13 lifts, and Hunter Mountain’s nearly 1000 feet long tubing hill, a “no-skills” fun activity for the whole family. In the town of Windham (just 30 min away) you’ll find skiing in the winter with 85 skiable acres and 54 trails over two peaks, 6 terrain parks and 11 lifts. “The Windham Mountain Adventure Park offers family fun, day, and night during the winter season. Six lanes of exhilarating snow tubing serviced by a conveyor lift, kid’s snowmobiles, and a comfy lodge. Grab a cup of hot cocoa, a slice, or a pie for the whole family at Drop Zone Pizza before racing down the tubing lanes!” The location is perfect for winter skiing, sledding, and snowboarding. In the fall, hike below the beautiful foliage, and in the spring/summer be sure to check out the nearby swimming holes for more hiking, antiquing, and local farms & vineyards. Come spring/summer, be sure to check out Kaaterskill Wild Forest (just 40 minutes away) you’ll find some of the best hiking New York State has to offer, with a variety of trails for all levels, and enjoyable through the different seasons of the year. Another favorite of ours is Rail Explorers where you pedal alongside the Esopus Creek through the beautiful woods of the Catskill Mountains. Windham Mountain offers some of the best mountain biking trails in the region as well as golfing with spectacular views of the Great Northern Catskills. Windham is also home to the 1,355-acre Elm Ridge Wild Forest. Here you will find a 1.5-mile portion of the Escarpment Trail, the 1.1-mile-long Elm Ridge Trail, and numerous other trails totaling more than 25 miles available for multiple uses, including hiking, cross-country skiing, and mountain biking. Food & Drink Options Mary's Cookin' Again Highmont – 3min drive. Experience and taste amazing food with the skills known only to Mary. She has won the trust of so many customers that many people always return to her, to taste the delicious foods only Mary can make. Peekamoose Restaurant – 3min drive. Ringed by mountains and backed by Big Indian's "forever wild" forest preserve, award-winning Peekamoose Restaurant is a culinary beacon for those looking for the best of contemporary American cuisine in a place of unparalleled natural beauty. The culmination of a lifelong dream for owners Devin and Marybeth Mills, Peekamoose combines the spirit of the Catskills with the essence of their decades' experience at the finest New York City restaurants. The result is down-to-earth, no pretension, seriously good food in an environment that doesn't take itself too seriously. Tito Bandito’s – 5min drive. Welcome to Tito Bandito’s Catskills Taco + Tequila Bar, located in Pine Hill NY. Authentic Mexican food, Margaritas, Mexican + Craft Beer, a rotating Tequila and Mezcal list and a variety of Mexican inspired craft cocktails. J Roccoss Creekside Grill – 8min drive. J Roccos Creekside Grill, located in Shandaken, NY, is a casual, pet friendly eatery where Fido is welcome to join you, on a leash, at an outdoor table. Right on the Esopus Creek in the Catskill Mountains, pups can play in the stream, make pup friends and even get lunch of their own! A sample of menu items for humans includes steamers, peel and eat shrimp, nachos, wings, sandwiches, fried chicken, fish and chips, tacos, salads, ribs and more. Full bar and fine cigar selection also available. After dinner, enjoy a cigar and a single malt scotch by the fire pit! Oakleys Wood-Fired & Pizza Grill – 8min drive. Oakley’s Wood-Fired Pizza and Grill is a warm and welcoming restaurant that offers tasty wood-fired pizza as well as different types of food, prepared on their wood-fired grill. They have 12 types of draught beer, a variety of red and white wines, as well as a full liquor bar. In the warmer weather, they offer dining in their large patio or courtyard where pets are welcome. Brio’s – 13min drive. Brio’s, a local Phoenicia Restaurant, has been proudly serving lunch and dinner since 1973. Their collection of traditional homemade recipes has permitted us to provide our customers with a menu that is both eclectic and extensive. Their famed crispy thin-crust Neapolitan pizza is not the only treat that comes out of our wood-fired ovens; but is accompanied by delicious homemade breads as well as a broad spectrum of steaks, fish, and other entree items. Maeve’s Place – 14min drive. Enjoy delicious food by the hands of Maeve, and one of the best served coffee. Make sure to bring your friends with you to enjoy the amazing food and grab your favourite drink and coffee. Phoenicia Diner – 14min drive. Built in 1962 and moved to the Catskills in the early 80s, the Phoenicia Diner has a long history of serving customers who are drawn to the Catskill’s natural beauty. The prior owners nurtured the Diner and its customers for nearly 30 years. Current owner, Mike Cioffi, continues that tradition by offering residents, weekenders and visitors fresh food sourced from Catskills and Hudson Valley farms when available. Their menu is carefully crafted to offer traditional diner favourites, sometimes with a modern twist, using seasonal and local fresh ingredients. Woodstock Brewing – 15min drive. Founded by two friends with a passion for beer and tinkering. Their brewery has grown from a 1/2-barrel pilot system in a Woodstock garage to a 15-barrel brewery. They strive to provide tasty and ever-changing brews in a relaxing environment. The Pines – 18min drive. Serving rustic country tavern food. Owned by local Catskills musician, Jeremy Bernstein, The Pines is a welcoming community space, where locals and visitors can eat, drink and enjoy live music. El Paso Winery – 53min drive. El Paso Winery invites you for a friendly respite in the country – so much to see, so much to do! There are places to dine along the "creek"; campsites and trails to hike; boat rides on the Hudson and beautiful places to stay the night. . .but don't forget to bring a bottle or two of fine El Paso wine. And remember, the wine tastings are FREE, the gift shop is COOL and their links to Hudson Valley area attractions are just the beginning. Local Attractions Belleayre Mountain Ski Center – 5min drive. Having the highest skiing elevation in the region, and a perfect northeastern exposure, Belleayre boasts the best possible natural snow coverage. With 96% snowmaking, state-of-the-art grooming and its expert veteran staff, the resort is often the first Catskills' area to open and the last one to close. Ashokhan Reservoir – 27min drive. Did you know there is a 2.8-mile trail, known as the Ashokan Promenade, is a paved pathway along the southern shore of the Ashokan Reservoir. Perfect for walking, running, and biking year-round with awesome views of the Catskill Mountain. Woodstock Sanctuary – 50min drive. Woodstock Sanctuary currently has over 400 rescued farmed animal residents, each given lifelong sanctuary and treated with respect as individuals. For those who love animals and want to have an amazing time with them, this is the place! Esopus Meadows Preserve – 53min drive. Experience this 1.3-mile loop trail near Ulster Park, New York. Generally considered an easy route, it takes an average of 32 min to complete. This trail is great for birding, hiking, and running, and it's unlikely you'll encounter many other people while exploring. Minnewaska State Park Preserve – 56min drive. The park features numerous waterfalls, three crystalline sky lakes, dense hardwood forests, incising sheer cliffs and ledges opening to beautiful views, clear streams cut into valleys, 35 miles of carriage roads and 50 miles of footpaths on which to bike, walk, hike and simply enjoy. The Esopus Meadows Lighthouse – 57min drive. The Esopus Meadows Lighthouse is one of the most picturesque and the only surviving wooden lighthouse on the Hudson River. Nicknamed the "Maid of the Meadows," it was built on the edge of the mud flats south of Port Ewen, where cattle once grazed. Headless Horseman Haunted Attractions – 1hour and 8min drive. Headless Horseman Haunted Attractions is a unique, immersive experience with a theme that changes each Halloween season. The event offers ten attractions, including a haunted walking trail, corn maze, and haunted houses, in addition to a donut bakery, gift shops, food cafes, and a professional illusionist stage show. Walkway Over the Hudson State Historic Park – 1hour and 12min drive. The park provides access to the Hudson River's breathtaking landscape for pedestrians, hikers, joggers, and bicyclists. The bridge deck stands 212 feet above the river's surface and is 6,768 feet (1.28 miles) long, making it the longest, elevated pedestrian bridge in the world. Breakneck Ridge Trailhead – 1hour and 22min drive. Get to know this 3.2-mile loop trail near Cornwall-on-Hudson, New York. Generally considered a challenging route, it takes an average of 2 h 16 min to complete. This is a very popular area for hiking and rock climbing, so you'll likely encounter other people while exploring. The best times to visit this trail are April through November. Dogs are welcome but must be on a leash. There are fantastic views the whole way up! Storm King Art Center – 1hour and 22min drive. Spread over 500 sprawling acres with more than 100 sculptures, both the grounds and the art of Storm King Art Center are impressive. They’re not-to-be-missed if you love art, nature and the outdoors. Our recent visit coincided with the peak of the fall foliage, and we can’t wait to return in the spring. This unique museum without walls is the largest outdoor sculptural art center for contemporary art in the U.S. and is one of the three largest in the world. Beyond its size and number of holdings, Smithsonian Magazine recognized Storm King as one of the most spectacular sculpture parks in the world. Nearest airport: Roxbury Runway Airport-1NK0 – 25min drive from the house. Nearest train station: Rhinecliff – 50min drive from the house. Bus stops are nearby the house, it takes a few minutes to get there. The closest one is: (164) Pine Hill-Main St @ Elm – 5 minutes by walking. CHECK IN The check-in will be contactless and keyless. Before you arrive, we will send you the code to the door lock. PARKING Please feel free to utilize the entire driveway for your vehicles throughout the length of your stay - it can hold up to 6 cars. Note that we are not responsible for personal items left in your car. HOUSE ACCESS The entire house is yours for the length of your stay. Feel free to enjoy the private deck, fire pit, hammock, and seating areas around the yard. Note that this home does sit along a main road and occasionally the traffic can be heard from inside. OUTSIDE GUESTS If you'd like to add an additional guest to the booking, please be sure to add them to the reservation or reach out to Stay at Lina team if your stay has already begun. We can typically accommodate up to the max number of guests noted on the original listing and no more. We cannot offer customer service for extra people who don’t have an official reservation through the platform, and any liability waivers won’t apply. NO PARTIES OR EVENTS SECURITY Stepping out of the house? Keep your belongings safe and secure by remembering to close and lock all the doors and windows before leaving the property. CHECK OUT Our check-out time is at 11:00 AM. Please make sure to do the dishes (it’s ok to place the remaining dishes in the dishwasher and start the cycle), take the trash out and close the door before leaving. Don’t forget to do a final walk thru of the house to make sure you haven’t left behind any personal items. RECYCLING Guests can leave the recycling items on a separate bag in the house. Cleaning team will take care of it after guests leave. ITEMS LEFT BEHIND Please note that we are not responsible for any items left behind. Lina will make every effort to search and find your forgotten items after you check out but we do not guarantee if they can be found. FRIENDS OF MOTHER NATURE Please note that we are located in the countryside, surrounded by trees and foliage. Although we have regularly scheduled pest control services in and around the home and yard, you are still likely to see a few insects or other living beings from Mother Nature. We ask that you do your best to keep outside doors closed as much as possible to limit the amount of outdoor creatures from sneaking in. PETS We love dogs and allow them in our houses, but please let us know if your are bringing your furry friend(s) along. Please understand that all of our furniture and décor is new and dogs are not allowed on the furniture or beds. You will be responsible for any visible wear or damage your dogs may cause. The maximum number of dogs we allow is two. REPAIRS AND MAINTENANCE We cannot guarantee against mechanical failure of heating, air conditioning, appliances, TVs/media equipment, stereo equipment or pools/spas. Please report any inoperative equipment to us promptly. We will make every reasonable effort to have repairs done quickly and efficiently. If you demonstrate that the problem persists after being given phone instructions by our team, a maintenance service professional may be dispatched. NO REFUNDS OR RENT REDUCTIONS WILL BE MADE DUE TO MECHANICAL FAILURES OR MALFUNCTIONS, INTERRUPTIONS OF UTILITIES, MAINTENANCE PROBLEMS OR CONSTRUCTION IN THE AREA. WHILE LINA WILL MAKE EVERY EFFORT TO REPAIR ANY MAINTENANCE ISSUE IN A TIMELY MANNER, IT CANNOT GUARANTEE THAT THE ISSUE WILL BE FIXED DURING A GUEST STAY, AS THE COMPANY MAY HAVE TO GO THROUGH HOME WARRANTIES.
