The spring is a beautiful attraction and you’ll see manatees. Ellie Schiller Homosassa Springs Wildlife State Park Underwater observatory; “alligators, black bears, red wolf, key deer, flamingoes, whooping cranes and the oldest hippopotamus in captivity.” Crystal River Archaeological State Park This is an inexpensive ($3 per car) and interesting place. Walk the paths, read about the history, go up on the big mound for beautiful views of the Crystal River. Bring the bug spray. We are a 3-minute walk from it and go there all the time with our dog!
