SNOW CHAINS OR 4X4 REQUIRED during winter months. Nestled in the Sequoia’s at an elevation of 7200ft (2 hours from Sequoia Park) is a hidden gem called Ponderosa! Take in the breathtaking views from the wraparound deck, mesmerized by the cascade of wildlife! Spend time in the cathedral ceilings of the great room, gathering around the memorable wood burning fireplace with family and friends. Explore the many hiking trails, including the world famous Trail of 100 Giants. The space Our cabin is perfect for a weekend getaway or week long vacations! The main floor has an open living concept with a dining area and full kitchen. On the main floor there is also one bedroom with a comfy Cal King bed and one full bathroom. Upstairs in the second bedroom there is one queen size bed and 3 twin beds. There is also a bathroom which has a tub/shower. It comfortably sleeps 7 people (4 adults, 3 children). It can accommodate a maximum of 10 people, but you will want to plan ahead and bring air mattresses and sleeping bags. The kitchen is stocked with pots, pans, bakeware, glassware, utensils, & most everything you will need to make your family's favorite dish. We do have some spices, however we do recommend to bring your own to ensure you have everything you need. During the winter months the cabin is heated by floor heaters and a wood burning fireplace. We provide ample amounts of firewood. Due to the elevation, during warmer months there is no need for an A/C. Every room has a ceiling fan and we also provide additional fans if needed. Guest access Our cabin is not recommended for anyone in a wheelchair or requires handicap accessibility due to multiple sets of stairs and no ramps. The driveway is flat, can accommodate up to 5 vehicles & during winter months it is frequently plowed. You will receive check-in instructions upon booking and a keyless entry code for easy self checkin. Other things to note Ponderosa is a very remote location and we highly advise you plan ahead with maps, groceries and other necessities. There is no Grocery store or Gas station within a 90+ minute drive. In town, during the winter most street signs and address numbers are covered in 8ft of snow. A small piece of advice would be to screenshot your maps/GPS while you have cell service. There is no cell service until you are linked to our wifi. (large amounts of snowfall or winter storms can sometimes slow wifi down) There is NO TRASH SERVICE so all trash will need to go back down with you. Please do not store any trash outside. Wood is provided for all guests. There is a coffee maker, espresso machine and keruig. Electric stove with oven, refrigerator, washer and dryer. Although the washer is there for you to use, we ask that you plan ahead and bring your preferred laundry soap. There is a propane and charcoal BBQ (you will need to bring your own charcoal and a propane tank is available and usually full but sometimes previous guest doesn’t communicate the tank is empty), please clean after usage and in same location as you found them. Internet is provided and is not the fastest (about 20-30MPS) you are 7200ft in the mountains so be prepared to have some intermittent internet if there is snow falling or rain storms.
