The Hyatt Sunset Harbor’s 40 residential-style retreats offer well-appointed comforts of home and signature Hyatt care. Hyatt typically offers complimentary, freshly brewed Starbucks coffee and an assortment of teas from 7:00 to 9:00 AM each morning in the lobby. Hyatt Sunset Harbor's courtyard, swimming pool, and hot tub are waterfront!  Two-bedroom tropical-style residences feature a master suite with a deluxe king-size bed and connecting full bath with separate shower and tub; a guest suite with queen-size bed and full bath; a fully equipped kitchen; dining area; living area with TV, sleep sofa, stereo, and DVD player; and a private balcony with pool and harbor views. Amenities include a coffeemaker, ceiling fans, wireless Internet, and onsite laundry facilities. Two-bedroom residences sleep up to 6 adult guests. Some two-bedroom residences are multi-level; you must climb stairs to get to the bedrooms and bathrooms.  All two-bedroom residences at the Hyatt Sunset Harbor are Gulf front or Gulf view (see the marked-up resort layout in the photos in this listing for the differentiation). Most two-bedroom residences also have pool, spa, and/ or lush courtyard views. Hyatt Sunset Harbor's courtyard, swimming pool, and hot tub are waterfront! Key West is a tropical paradise. Some water views may be partially obstructed by palm trees or other vegetation. Cruise ships have returned to Key West. Some water views may be partially obstructed at times by cruise ships. Of course, if you're looking for more natural pursuits, you have plenty of options - Key West is a haven for fishers, and the unique ecosystem is well-suited to those seeking to explore by foot or bike. Plenty of unique attractions await those looking for a change of pace - check out the Harry S. Truman Little White House, Key West Aquarium, Key West Lighthouse Museum and Mel Fisher Maritime Heritage Museum; all within walking distance of the Hyatt Sunset Harbor. Hyatt Sunset Harbor Interior Design “Makeover” - The Hyatt Sunset Harbor Board of Directors announced in their July 2023 Newsletter that within the next several months, they are planning an interior design “makeover.” In the works are new flooring, new living room furniture, new drapery and rugs, etc. When done, all villas will have a new design reflecting the colors of Key West. This work will be completed throughout the remainder of 2024 and into 2025. Contractors will be on site during working hours during this time. There will be “Makeover” activities and “Makeover” noise. I have had guests stay at the Hyatt Sunset Harbor during these “Makeover” activities and thus far have had no negative comments. Hyatt Sunset Harbor Exterior Building Maintenance - Following the collapse of the 12-story beachfront condominium in Surfside, FL in June 2021, the state of Florida basically legislated that the owners of all buildings in Florida that are 3 stories or more in height are required to have an engineering company conduct a structural inspection and prepare an inspection report with recommendations. The inspection report for the Hyatt Sunset Harbor was completed in June 2023. Exterior building maintenance had already commenced prior to issuance of the inspection report. In line with the recommendations of the inspection report, the Hyatt Sunset Harbor’s Board of Directors announced in July 2023 that exterior building maintenance will take place at the Hyatt Sunset Harbor throughout the remainder of 2024 and into 2025. Most of the exterior building maintenance has been completed. The roof may be refurbished or replaced in 2025. Contractors will be on site during working hours during this time. There will be construction activities and construction noise. There has been no impact on reservations to date, other than the visible construction activities and noise. I have had guests stay at the Hyatt Sunset Harbor during these construction activities and thus far have had no negative comments. Guest access The entire two-bedroom, two-bathroom residence is accessible to guests, including the living room, dining area, kitchen, bedroom, bathroom, and balcony along with all common areas at the Hyatt Sunset Harbor, including the lobby, courtyard, swimming pool, hot tub, and laundry facilities. Some two-bedroom residences are multi-level; you must climb stairs to get to the bedrooms and bathrooms. Walk to Sunset Pier, Mallory Square, Key West's Historic Seaport, and Duval Street. If you are flying into Key West, you won't need a car. There is no on-site parking or street parking at Hyatt Sunset Harbor. If desired, discounted garage parking is available to Hyatt's guests for a fee of about $50. Upon request, Hyatt will issue a Key Card to you at Check-In to enter the garage. The garage is located directly across Sunset Lane from Hyatt's Lobby. Garage parking is limited to one car per reservation. Other things to note Other Details to Note, House Rules, Check-in Instructions, and Hyatt’s Health, Safety, & Cleaning Practices - o Once your reservation is confirmed, I will have Hyatt issue a Guest Certificate in your name. Your Hyatt Confirmation Number will be on your Guest Certificate. The Guest Certificate is like the confirmation you receive when you make a hotel reservation. o To obtain the Guest Certificate from Hyatt I will need your mailing address, phone number, and email address. The Guest Certificate holder must be at least 25 years of age to check in. o I will email and text a copy of the completed Guest Certificate to you. The Guest Certificate will have the Hyatt Sunset Harbor’s address and phone number on it. I suggest that you save the text on your phone for convenient access later. o If you wish to confirm your reservation with Hyatt, to request early check-in, or to secure garage parking, please call the Hyatt Sunset Harbor’s front desk any time after receiving your Guest Certificate. o Lobby check-in time is 4:00 PM to 11:00 PM. You will check into the Hyatt Sunset Harbor’s front desk just as you would check into any hotel. Hyatt will assign your room to you at check-in depending on availability. o If you requested early check-in and your room is not available when you arrive, you will be able to register at the front desk and drop your bags off. Hyatt will store your bags and will notify you when your room is ready. You will be free to have lunch or to explore Key West while Hyatt is preparing your room. o If you know you will be arriving after 11:00 PM, please notify the Hyatt Sunset Harbor’s front desk of your late arrival in advance, obtain Hyatt Security’s phone number, and call Hyatt Security upon your arrival. Hyatt’s Security will check you in. If you arrive late unexpectedly, Hyatt Security’s phone number will be posted on the front door. Please contact Hyatt Security upon your arrival. o Hyatt will require proper ID and a credit card to check-in. You must be at least 25 years of age. o The Hyatt Residence Club is changing its name to the Hyatt Vacation Club. The transition (letter head, signage, etc.) will occur beginning in 2023. o All Hyatt Residence Club Owner Reservations, Guest Certificates, and rentals are subject to Hyatt Residence Club’s Rules & Regulations, Terms & Conditions, House Rules, etc. o Please notify Hyatt Sunset Harbor’s front desk of any issue with the residence as soon as you become aware of it to have them resolve it. If Hyatt can’t resolve the issue, please also notify Airbnb of issues covered under Airbnb’s “AirCover”. You must notify Airbnb within the limited required time periods set forth in Airbnb’s “AirCover”. Please also notify me via Airbnb email and by text or phone call. o Check-out is at 10:00 AM. The front desk opens at 7:00 AM. You will check out of the Hyatt Sunset Harbor’s front desk just as you would check out of any hotel. Please contact the Hyatt Sunset Harbor to request late check-out, if desired. o In addition to early check-in and late check-out, other special requests may be available, i.e., a crib, foam pillows, floor and room preferences, etc. Hyatt will do their best to accommodate these special requests, but they can’t guarantee them. o There will be an approximate $100 credit card hold at check-in; it is refunded when you leave. o Hyatt will charge a housekeeping fee at check-out for the initial setup (or a split week fee or a portfolio fee) of about $39 to $60 for rental periods of less than 7 days. o There may be no cash available at this Resort. Credit Cards may be the only acceptable form of payment. o Hyatt’s concierge may invite you to a sales presentation after you check-in. You are under no obligation to attend the sales presentation. If you attend, you are under no obligation to purchase anything. Any decision to attend a sales presentation is a personal matter and choice of how one decides to budget vacations. o No pets are allowed. o No smoking is allowed. o No events are allowed. o No commercial photography is allowed. o No special accommodations (e.g., cribs, highchairs, etc.) are provided for infants and/ or children. Accommodations for infants and/ or children may be available upon special request to Hyatt. o Some one-bedroom and some two-bedroom condo style residences are multi-level; you must climb stairs to get to the bedrooms and bathrooms. o There is no on-site parking or street parking at Hyatt Sunset Harbor. Call the Hyatt Sunset Harbor’s front desk to secure your garage parking any time after receiving your Guest Certificate. o Taxis, Uber, Lyft, bicycles, scooters, electric vehicles, etc. are available for destinations farther away than Key West's Historic Seaport, Sunset Pier, Mallory Square, and Duval Street. There is no need for a rental car during your stay. If you fly into Key West, you can take a Taxi, Uber, or Lyft to the Hyatt Sunset Harbor. o The courtyard, swimming pool, and hot tub are open year-round, weather permitting; typically, from dawn to dusk. Pool towels will be available either in your room or at the pool. Generally, small pool toys are allowed; large pool toys, e.g., floaties, rafts, etc., are not allowed. o Complimentary clothes washers and dryers are located on all 3 floors near rooms 134 and 124 and 114. Complimentary laundry detergent is available at the front desk. o There are many local attractions and activities available in Key West as shown in the Amenities and Photos sections of this listing. Most will require payment of a fee. o The photos in this listing are stock photos and do not show the actual room that Hyatt will assign to you. o Obligations of the Guest: The Guest agrees to pay all incidental charges charged by the Hyatt Residence Club. The Guest is responsible for any theft, damage, repairs, or replacement of furnishings missing from the unit. Hyatt’s Health, Safety, & Cleaning Practices - o Hyatt Sunset Harbor follows guidelines from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), World Health Organization (WHO), and local health departments, as well as other governmental recommendations and requirements; and Hyatt’s Global Care & Cleanliness Commitment. For additional information, see Hyatt’s website. o In line with hotel trends, daily housekeeping service may not be routinely provided by Hyatt during your stay. Light housekeeping service (i.e., towels, toiletries, and coffee replacement, trash removal, etc.) will be available upon request to Hyatt’s front desk. Light housekeeping service most likely will not include services like making your bed. Airbnb’s Listing Categorizations - o Airbnb automatically Categorizes listings. Airbnb’s Categorizations may or may not be correct. I have tried to get Airbnb to correct their Categorizations on my listings but was not successful. Please independently verify any of Airbnb’s Categorizations or ask me prior to making a decision based on them. Clarification on Previous Guest’s Reviews - o There are 3 Hyatt Residence Clubs (HRCs) in Key West (Hyatt Windward Pointe, Hyatt Sunset Harbor, and Hyatt Beach House). I have several guest reviews. Each review is for 1 of the 3 HRCs and may mention features that are applicable to only that HRC and not to the other two. Unfortunately, some of the reviews don't state which HRC they apply to and may be misleading. Please contact me with any questions.
