Tentrr Signature - Sleigh Hill Farm
Details
Summary: Secluded camping on a 100+ acre farm on a lake and next to a winery; FREE wine tastings for all campers and 10% off all purchases. No need to worry about drinking and driving. Fishing, hiking, playing in the pond, wine tasting, seeing wild game and relaxation in a very secluded lakeside environment. Hunters (winter months only) can book days to hunt my farm directly through myself. Hiking trails and fishing pond (free) on the property...no bears in this area of VA, so you are safe. If you come in Nov-Mar when it snows, we have heaters and a 300 meter sleigh hill (bring your own sled). Only two miles from 17 South Family Restaurant for a great dining experience (also 10% off). 10 minutes from Tappahannock, Virginia if you require additional supplies, dining options or golf. Two hours south of Washington DC, 45 minutes south of historic Fredericksburg, one hour NE of Richmond, two hours North of VA Beach. If you are into seclusion, water, nature AND wine.....this is the place for you! Please view the section called "EXTRAS" while reserving to acquire detail for wood purchase, ATV tours, propane heater, floating pier rental (daily charge), free range eggs, etc....bring your OWN bedding or sleeping bags. We choose to have a LOW price and offer "EXTRAS" as many folks bring their own extras. This is primitive camping but in what I call a luxury tent / with a queen bed (no bugs no rain no critters). We do not provide linen/pillows, so bring your own. There is also a solar pack for lights and phone charging. Lastly, we are beside a GSM cell tower, so the cell signal is fast and STRONG if you need to work or make calls. NOTE: the vehicle parking site is NOT beside the tent; it is about 150 feet away, so there is a small walk to haul your gear in. We have a camp toilet and "poo bags" and a camp sun shower you hang from a tree. We also have a water point beside my barn. Hollie and I live 400 meters away and spend time at the sites when they are not rented (we love them too). We are thinking of expanding so as you hike our trails, please let us know where the "next sites" should be. Enjoy the country. We love sharing our farm and meeting good people. LOVE IT! The Space: Become ONE with nature in a peaceful, wooded, lake front and remote primitive GLAMPING site literally next door to a winery. A hunter's haven in the winter, which you can book separate direct through myself. Guest Access: This is an exclusive Tentrr Signature campsite. Tentrr partners with land owners to offer unique accommodations in beautiful outdoor spaces. Our campsites are off-the-grid which means they generally do not have access to electricity, wifi, or modern plumbing. Instead, they offer the chance to relax, unplug, and fully experience nature! Your Tentrr campsite includes a 10'x12' (120 square feet) safari-style canvas tent on a raised wooden platform. Inside the tent you'll find one queen bed or a queen-size bunk bed (see photos for the exact setup). The tent is big enough for the bed plus one or two extra sleeping bags on the floor. Aside from the canvas tent, campers can also use the extra 5-person pop-up dome tent that’s provided. You'll also have a 6-ft picnic table, outdoor fire pit, 2 Tentrr Adirondack chairs, and a heating source to keep you warm and toasty at night. Group Camping: We welcome campers with larger parties, but the standard Tentrr setup only includes the canvas tent plus the additional pop-up dome tent. You may need and are encouraged to bring additional camping gear of your own if you plan on camping with a large party. Max Occupancy: This refers to the total number of campers allowed onsite with your reservation. You may have as many campers in your party up to the maximum limit that is set for the listing, but please note that the only bed provided as a standard amenity is the one set up inside the canvas tent. Toilets: Every campsite is equipped with a camp toilet (we call it the Tentrr Loo). This is a simple wooden box with a toilet seat and a bucket inside. To use, line the bucket with a CleanWaste Sani-Bag supplied at the camp prior to use. Afterwards, simply tie the bag up and place it in a trash bag. CleanWaste Sani-Bags use a NASA-developed gelling/deodorizing agent that helps prevent spills and keeps everyone safe and clean. Showers: Every Signature campsite comes with a Coleman Sun Shower. The sun shower has a reservoir that holds up to 5 gallons of water, potentially enough for multiple showers. It's constructed of heat-locking material that warms the water when it's left in the sun, even on cool days. What you should bring: -S'mores supplies & any food you'd like to eat -A cooler to keep your grub from spoiling -Bedding and pillows -Lanterns and lighting -Firewood for the campfire -Water Tentrr Extras: These are other additional amenities, services, or activities that may be provided by your CampKeeper for an additional fee. Please coordinate in advance if you'd like to add these to your booking. Availability of any Extras are not guaranteed and must be confirmed and paid for at least 24 hours prior to check-in. Organic Eggs - $5 Farm Fresh organic eggs to eat while you visit or take some home with you. Only $5 per dozen. Floating Pier - $25 Enjoy onsite pond with this floating pier. ENJOY ;-) Open only Fri-Sun noon to 6 PM. Guided ATV Tour - $50 Enjoy a 30 minute guided ATV tour for Four (counting me as your driver) on our Honda Pioneer. Great way to see trails before you hike. I have to be your driver for insurance reasons. We can do the easy ride or the muddy ride.....totally up to you ;-) 12 Volt Battery - $15 If you rent our floating pier, consider getting battery to run the electric motor so you can sit back in the Captain's Chairs and enjoy the ride. If not, there are paddles, but that is more work. Propane heater with propane bottle - $20 In the fall, winter and early Spring mornings, you may want the propane heater (propane tank included full of fuel) to knock the chill off in the mornings when you get up. Other Things to Note: Fish in the farm pond or Mount Landing Creek (provide your own poles and lures; see the map we provide). Enjoy a walk next door to the winery for a FREE tasting and 10% off purchases; feel free to bring your own things for a picnic at the winery. The fire pit also doubles as a cook grill so bring food and a pan. Enjoy hiking on our farm trails, but please stay within the property boundary (a map will be included at the site). Feel free to rent our floating pier for the pond. Enjoy the Hutchinson Natural Wildlife Refuge less than three miles away. Feel free to bring your own sleeping bags / pillows or choose our clean and cozy sheets and toppings as an extra. Bring your dog/s if they like swimming in the lake, but please keep them on a leash when walking the trails. The solar power pack runs lights and charges phones. Please rent the heater and come stay in Nov-Mar when it snows and ENJOY our long and safe sleigh hill. Please do not cut wood on the property; you can forage for dead fall, bring your own or purchase wood bundles from us as an extra. Please follow the map provided and stay within the boundaries of our property. Feel free to rent our Honda 4-seater ATV to tour the trails, but unfortunately, I must be your driver and tour guide due to insurance reasons, but I promise I am FUN! Lastly, please do not urinate from the deck or around the tent as it can get smelly over time. Interaction with Guests: Upon check out, you should leave-no-trace of your stay and be sure your campsite is returned to its natural glory! While Tentrr does not charge a cleaning fee, we do expect campsites to be left how they were found. After you check out, take everything you brought in and be sure to leave your trash at the designated location on the property. If a CampKeeper submits an incident report after your stay that details evidence of trash or damage to the campsite or the CampKeeper’s property, Tentrr reserves the right to charge a minimum cleaning fee of $50. Just make sure to follow the Camper Manual posted at your campsite and you'll be set! Reservation Modifications/Cancellations: Please note the terms of the cancelation policy as they are outlined in your reservation confirmation on Airbnb. If you need to cancel or modify your reservation, please reach out to Tentrr Customer Support. Your CampKeeper is unable to change or cancel your reservation on your behalf. Tentrr Customer Support can be reached at (888) 798-9093 or at hello@tentrr.com.
