Description

Romantic get-away in a historic one-room schoolhouse decorated for Christmas! We are approx. 15 minutes to most area attractions, restaurants, wineries, shopping and nature! Mid-Ohio Race Track, Ohio State Reformatory-SHAWSHANK; Clearfork Reservoir, Kingwood Center Gardens, Ohio Bird Sanctuary and the beautiful paved Richland B&O bike trail. The space Historic one-room schoolhouse built in 1895 restored and ready for a quiet romantic retreat! Sitting right on the Continental Divide watch a gorgeous sunrise or sunset; marvel at the mesmerizing firefly dance over the fields at dusk. Inside, you will have the entire schoolhouse and private screened back porch to yourselves. Step back in time and imagine the hustle and bustle of children attending this schoolhouse in the 1900's! The one-room school room is open-concept where you will find a luxurious king size bed, a sitting area with sofa for snuggling and a large 65" flat screen Smart TV with Roku. Also, you will find a game table and chairs, a desk/chair (free high-speed WiFi) and a beautiful antique lit back bar (byob!) Upstairs is our bath/tranquility room complete with aromatherapy, soothing water fountain and sound machine to create your personal mood while treating your partner to a massage on our professional grade massage table! Also on this level you will find a full bath with tub/shower combination. NOTE: Guests will need to navigate approx. 11 steps up the loft and full bath room) Back downstairs, you will find the kitchen and screened back porch with an additional Roku TV. The kitchen has an electric apartment-sized stove/oven, toaster, blender and microwave. NOTE: We do ask that our guests do not fry or broil greasy foods as there is no fan/hood vent or garbage disposal to handle this. We do offer a propane gas grill for your use from May thru September. There is a single serve coffee maker (k cup pods are provided). If you prefer to bring your own ground coffee, a French press and kettle are provided. A list of local eateries, wineries, breweries and food delivery options will be available in room. There is also a half bath on the kitchen level. Outdoors, sit under the outdoor lights at night and sip your favorite beverage or enjoy your morning coffee on the park bench beside our frog pond. (Seasonal, of course!). Guest access Guests will have access to the entire schoolhouse, screened three-season back porch with TV, side garden area with outdoor lighting and seating (May through October). Parking space is located just outside your door and ground level entryway into schoolhouse. Other things to note PLEASE NOTE: Property is not handicap accessible or suitable for children or pets. The screened back porch, kitchen and half bath are ground level but you will need to navigate four stairs upward into the one-room school room and an additional 11 stairs to the loft/full bath. This home sleeps two only. Smoking is only permitted at the outdoor bench where a sand bucket has been provided. We do have an outdoor "door-cam" security camera that covers the parking lot and outdoor entrances. We DO NOT have provisions for EV car charging at this time.
