LaVida Cottage - a restful creekside destination

LaVida Cottage offers a quaint and quiet setting two blocks from Lake Ontario and overlooking 18 Mile Creek. In the 3/4 acre back yard there is a FIREPIT, two patios, picnic spots and plenty of places to pitch a family tent. The yard overlooks a very active wetland with all sorts of wildlife.. There is excellent guest security (although Olcott is very safe) with exterior cottage lighting and video monitoring of the parking area. The space The cottage was built in the early 1950's and has been well maintained to the cottage design of that era. Over the years it has developed a warmth and charm all its own. Walking down to the creek bank takes the noise of the world completely away and you only hear natures calling. The creek behind the cottage is a vital flyway for all sorts of birds moving north and south. In addition to our seasonal visitors we have a huge population of resident birds and other wildlife. The huge back yard and mature trees give space and homes to critters from groundhogs to passing eagles. On a clear night our huge back yard provides majestic views of the night sky and if your lucky, perhaps a shooting star or an owl or two. Guest access We offer off street parking for our guests. Niagara County's Krull Park is just a one block walk east of the cottage, at the end of Park Lane. A nice five minute walk north on Rt. 78 (sorry no sidewalks) brings you to our local post office and a Dollar Store at the intersection of Rt's 78/18. On the cottage property, Guests are cautioned NOT to go down the creek bank! Other things to note PET FRIENDLY- We accept pets and responsible pet owners. UNATTENDED PETS ARE NOT ALLOWED Please check the posted pet rules at the cottage desk. There is no additional charge for your pet. I do ask that pet's paws are cleaned, before entering the cottage, as there are a lot of carpeted areas. The back wet room (off of the main bedroom) is a great area to clean them up before entry. If, by chance your pet has an accident in the cottage, PLEASE let us know so that it may be cleaned and sanitized. Thanks!
