The space Relax while lodging in the historical, 4500 square foot, nearly 100-year-old, Cattlemen's Headquarters. The Headquarters & included South Casita feature outstanding views of the Ranger Mesas & Del Norte Mountains. Enjoy sunset and sunrise on the veranda, and spend the evening viewing some of the best dark night skies in the US, with a special emphasis on views of the Milky Way. Choose from any of our eight well-appointed bedrooms in the Cattlemen's Headquarters, or enjoy the solitude of the private, one-bedroom, South Casita, each room featuring sweeping views of majestic Mesas, lush pastures, and the regal Del Norte Mountains. We have four wheeler excursions, horseback riding tours, seasonal hunts, a guided day trip to the swimming storage tank (aka ranch pool) & SUV tours, on site at The Cattleman’s Headquarters! If your group is interested in booking any of these activities with us during your stay at the Cattleman’s Headquarters, please, let us know & we can inquire for availability & organize that for y’all! Regarding the ATV tours: We can take groups of 7; 6 drive their own and there is one spot to ride on the back of a vehicle. A half day is $150/person; $300/person for a full day highlighting Newberry Ranch. There is also an option to jump in the swimming tank during both rides, in the winter, we’d call it a polar plunge! Both excursions feature views of twin sisters only seen from private access on Newberry Ranch & both excursions can take you half way up the South Twin Sister Peak (advanced riders, only); the longer excursion includes historic Native American & settler features, as well as, Newberry Ranch cattle, the potential to view local wildlife & the ability to see vegetative features unique to Newberry Ranch & Alpine, Texas. Regarding the Horseback Riding Tours: We provide the option to Horseback ride, either half day, or full day on the ranch. Varying levels of expertise are offered - beginners to advanced. Inquire for more information! Regarding SUV Tours: SUV Tours are available at $150/vehicle for a half day tour of Newberry Ranch, with a capacity of 4 guests per vehicle. There is also an option to jump in the swimming tank during your ride, this time of year we’d call it a polar plunge! This type of excursion features views of twin sisters only seen from private access on Newberry Ranch & includes historic Native American & settler features, as well as, Newberry Ranch cattle, the potential to view local wildlife & the ability to see vegetative features unique to Newberry Ranch & Alpine, Texas. Regarding Hunts: Newberry Ranch offers several types of exotic and native hunts (including Blue Scaled Quail, Mule Deer, Pronghorn, Whitetail Deer, Aoudad, and Hogs). All hunts are free-range, guided, and conducted in traditional spot and stalk style. Inquire for pricing. Annual capacity for bookings goes very quickly! Regarding the Swimming Storage Tank: Book a day at the swimming tank to cool off during the Texas Summer Days! The swimming tank is available year-round (although cold in the winters); the tank is fed by a natural spring so water temperatures are ambient to the weather and typically stay quite cool, even during the hottest Texas days. Expect natural elements to be present (i.e. algae), similar to other naturally flowing waters (i.e. lakes & rivers). It is always flowing & eventually gravity feeds the cattle drinking tanks at other parts of the ranch, therefore, it is always filtering and has fresh clean water daily. Booking requires a guide to get to and from the location for $75/day. This is due to its location being on another unmapped portion of the ranch, about 10 minutes from The Cattleman's Headquarters. Storage Tank Swimming is truly one of the most unique, rare, and privileged activities offered in West Texas. We are happy to open this opportunity up to our guests!
