Description

Caman House sits at the heart of The Cairngorms National Park. Light filled modern renovation of a Victorian apartment with cosy woodburner. Stylish and bags of character. Pubs & cafes less than a 3 minute walk. Wild-swimming, hiking, ski resorts, countryside, castles, whisky - this wee Highland village is also an amazing location/hub for visiting the best bits of the Highlands. Aviemore 20 min. Suitable for couples or families. Fast wifi. Part of the Frazers 'Where Stags Roar 'collection. The space Retaining many fine original features, including high ceilings, tiled fireplace and wooden floors, the spacious light filled living-room has an aga woodburning stove, very comfy sofas and an overall modern stylish decor. There's a large double bedroom decorated in traditional Highland style, plus a smaller twin room. The shower room has a generous-sized shower plus wash hand basin and wc. The kitchen is separate and has a dining table/dining area. Everything you'd expect to find to cater at home is there; dishwasher, fridge freezer, microwave, full oven and induction hobs, toaster, kettle, washing-machine and plenty of white crockery, pans, cooking utensils etc. Throughout the apartment there's a great collection of contemporary and traditional Scottish artwork, and guests love the quirky but harmonious mix of old and new, pop art and traditional Highland style! This is a first floor apartment. Fast wifi. Smart TV with freesat (various streaming services available with your own log-ins) , portable bluetooth speakers. There is an Asgard 4-bike cycle-storage unit in the grounds; this can be booked by either guests staying at Apartment 2 or The Bakehouse at Caman House. Please contact us to check availability and reserve (free). Once the 4-bike secure storage is booked by either party, it is then for their exclusive use only. The EV charger is at the rear of the property. Please charge using the QR code and 'Monta EV Charging' app. After charging is complete please re-park on the street to free up the shared charge point for other users - thank you. Please note this charger is accessed via a narrow driveway with tight turning access. If you are not confident using the driveway, or have a very large vehicle, then please note that from late summer 2023 there is also public EV charging point in the Newtonmore public car park just a 2 minute walk away. Guest access Whole of private first floor apartment. No garden. Parking just in front of the apartment on road - recessed parking bay (free); plenty more free parking available nearby too - peaceful small village. (Please don't pull into the narrow driveway at the side for unloading as it is a shared access for our neighbours too, parking and unloading is at the front only - thanks. No parking at the rear - thanks). We are your downstairs neighbours. (The little cafe opposite relies on passing trade, so please avoid parking right in front of that premises to help them, and to help us keep our relationships cordial with them - much appreciated) Other things to note We are your downstairs neighbours. The apartment is not suitable for parties or partying, we'd like to politely remind you to respect our other neighbours and let everyone have quiet enjoyment of the building and community, which means no unnecessary or excessive noise please. Thank you. Please note that our check-in time is 4pm (or anytime after as there is a self-check-in key box) and CHECK OUT by 10am at the latest - thank you for your understanding and for not arriving at the property before 4pm. Most of our changeovers are 'same-day' but we'll message you if we are able to be ready for you any earlier - there are local cafes and things to sight-see if you do arrive in the area ahead of these timings. We hope you understand why we need to adhere to strict check-out timings - we need this time for cleaning and we are committed to making your stay as safe and pleasant as possible. 1 well-behaved dog only allowed, and please let us know if you are bringing your dog. They must not be left unaccompanied in the apartment - there is no garden as it is first floor but there is good dog walking straight from the door.
