Once home to the Sisters of St Joseph, it now blends historic character with modern indulgence. Inside, discover high ceilings, soft linens, and spacious living areas designed for comfort and connection. Three bedrooms feature king beds, one offers a queen, and two include original fireplaces (decorative only). There are two full bathrooms, including the original clawfoot bath for ultimate relaxation. The fully equipped kitchen features quality appliances — 900 mm oven, Nespresso, blender, air fryer and BBQ — ideal for entertaining. Close to Maitland (10 min), Morpeth (10 min), and Hunter Valley vineyards (30 min), the home is also near Newcastle and Port Stephens — a perfect central base for longer stays. The Old Convent is also one of the closest and preferred accommodations to popular wedding venues such as Tocal Homestead, Wallalong House, Albion Farm Gardens, Maddies of Bolwarra and Aberglasslyn House. Every detail has been thoughtfully considered to make your stay peaceful, indulgent, and truly memorable. Guest access Guests enjoy exclusive access to the entire property, gardens and amenities — including the hot tub, fire pit, games loft and outdoor dining area. The home is single-level with no internal stairs, making it welcoming for guests of all ages and abilities. There is a single step to the front and rear of the home. The games loft is accessed via external stairs. We warmly welcome guests with accessibility or mobility needs and are happy to discuss specific requirements to ensure a comfortable stay. A personal digital access code is sent on the morning of arrival. Ample driveway and off-street parking provided. Other things to note We’re proud to offer a welcoming, accessible stay for all guests. The home is single-level with wide hallways, spacious rooms, one entry step and a hobless shower.
