Tucked at the end of a winding country road, The Grotto is just minutes from quaint Mt. Ida, Lake Ouachita, bike trails, crystal mines, and more. Watch the deer as you sip your morning coffee on the porch. Hike up the wooded hillside along trickling streams. Stargaze without a trace of light pollution on the multi-level back deck. The Grotto is a four bedroom, two bathroom home on 10 wooded acres in Mt. Ida, AR. With a rustic/industrial vibe, the Grotto welcomes you to unwind indoors in the clean, comfortable, newly renovated and spacious home. Enjoy the foosball table and record player in the game room, cook up a meal in the spacious, cheerful kitchen, or watch a movie or game on the TV in the living room. The master bedroom features a king size bed, TV, and work space. The Woods and Stable bedrooms each have queen beds. The Lake room has a twin bunk bed that's perfect for the kids and has an assortment of toys to keep them busy. Outdoors there are ten wooded acres to explore. Head out from the back deck and up to the top of the ridge or wander out to the pond from the front porch. There are seasonal streams that trickle down creating waterfalls and small clear pools. As you hike through the woods keep an eye out for crystals, and for the abundandt wildlife. At night you can relax on either the front porch or back deck and listen to the symphony of frogs, crickets, cicadas, birds, and occasionally coyotes. The night sky at the Grotto is blissfully free of ambient light and perfect for stargazing. Ouachita National Forest, Lake Ouachita, the South Fork of the Ouachita River, and numerous mountain bike trails - including two epic rated trails - are all nearby. Spend the day in Hot Springs (a short 50 minute drive) and check out the bathhouses, shopping, restaurants, and more. Charming Mt. Ida has several local eateries to explore. Be sure to stop in at the Heritage House Museum to learn about local history and see some amazing crystals. Need groceries? Bob's Food City is only a five minute drive away. The entire main floor of the home is yours to enjoy. The basement/garage is the only restricted area with no guest access. The Grotto is located just minutes from Mt. Ida, an All-American small town with numerous churches, local eateries, and shopping available nearby. There are summer outdoor concerts in town, a community theater, and Friday night football (Go Lions!) in the Fall. Enjoy the scenic drive through the Ouachita Mountains on your way to Mt. Ida. The Grotto is at the end of a narrow country road. It is fully accessible for all vehicles including campers and RV's. There is ample parking for cars, trucks, trailers, etc. The Grotto is secluded at the end of a country road. It is a quiet, tranquil spot and, as good neighbors, we strive to keep the area a peaceful retreat for all who call it home.
