With an open-plan layout throughout the ground floor, the owner's designer eye for detailing means that natural zones have created plenty of spaces to eat, drink and be merry- with the cosiest of corners to curl-up into for afters. Amongst the green-filled bay windows and bi-folds, you'll find it desperately hard to choose from the sinkable sofas, sheepskin-draped chaises and sun-soaked 'window' seats on offer... we recommend lighting the candles and seeing where the conversation takes you! Originally built in the 1900's, the cottage has evolved over the years, and the blend of old and new design details adds to the harmony you feel here. Natural textures & sleek finishing touches make this an instagrammable delight... literally every corner is a photographer's dream! With a signature Scandi style throughout, there is a strong sense of warmth and comfort here, inviting you to really sink back and make yourself at home. With a Jack & Jill (shower room & loo) from the master, there's also a bubbly tub waiting (jetted whirlpool bath) in the family bathroom- so no one will miss out. Outside From the second you enter your private & gated driveway, you will know you have chosen a very special stay... Amongst a backdrop of ancient trees & evergreens, do forage further as this gorgeous garden promises a playground for all ages to enjoy!!! With the sleek patio providing just the spot to enjoy a BBQ, sundowner or stargazing session, your conscious may wrestle as you decide whether to hit the gym (complete with treadmill, cross trainer & weights/ training area), slide into the hot tub, or get competitive in the annexe/ games room first... this really is the garden of paradise! After a day of roaming free, little ones will delight in s'mores by the fire pit - al fresco perfection! Garden is fenced and enclosed but houdinis may escape. Home truths Ridge Cottage is located just off of a 'main' country road so you may hear some road noise. When entering at night, there is a gate light, but please be aware that (as a true countryside gem!), there are no main street lights. There is a pull out bed in the lounge which can be moved to any room, but is only suitable for a younger guest. Please speak to our team if you have 9 on your guest list. Guests are solely responsible for safety when using the gym and the hot tub - please also be aware that the patio tiles get slippery when wet. Please take extra care on the balcony & do not lean on the railings (we do not recommend allowing kids on the bedroom balcony). Please note that there will be 1 or 2 cars left in the driveway during your stay. There is an extra charge for logs and kindling to burn on the fire (October- March) but feel free to BYO! Accessibility Originally built in 1913, the cottage has been renovated over the years, so has a 'quirky' layout (please refer to the virtual tour to explore some more) with some extra steps that lead to the bedrooms and bathrooms - all bedrooms are located upstairs.
