Completely refreshed in 2020, the Inn sits in the historic area of the Village of Clarkston. This guest suite is named after the year the Village of Clarkston was incorporated in 1842. We've taken the bed & breakfast, originally opened in 1994, & modernized it for our guests. We provide a continental breakfast in your suite, or you can visit one of several restaurants and cafes in nearby downtown Clarkston. The space The 1842 Suite provides privacy for couples looking to reconnect, or for individual travelers needing a space to decompress. At the top of the exterior staircase leading to the suite is a private covered patio overlooking the gardens and Clarkston’s Mill Pond. Upon entering the suite, guests are welcomed with a warm kitchenette and two-person dining area. Further into the suite is a four poster king bed next to an electric fireplace and mantle. The adjoining three quarter bathroom is just steps away. In the backyard you will find a BBQ for grilling, tables to enjoy a meal outdoors and a relaxing hot tub. This outdoor space is shared with other guests at the Inn. Continental breakfast includes: pastries, fresh fruit, yogurt, oatmeal, breakfast bars, Keurig coffee, and tea. This space feels quiet and private as it sits on the backside of the home with direct access to the parking lot. You can enjoy views of the Mill Pond from the balcony or take a short walk to downtown Clarkston to visit the many great restaurants in town. Guest access Parking is very limited at the Inn so we provide you with one (1) parking spot for your stay. If you have an additional vehicle let us know and we can arrange one additional spot for you if needed based on availability. Downtown is a short walk away. We recommend walking to downtown rather than driving if you are able due to limited and paid parking downtown. You will also get to see the beautiful historic homes in the village if you choose to walk downtown. Other things to note For an accurate rate, make sure you enter the correct number of people in your party. This suite sleeps a maximum of 2 guests. If you are planning to have additional visitors drop in, make sure that you comply with the guidelines that are provided in the Rules section. We do not allow events ie: birthday parties, dinner parties, wedding parties, etc. at the Inn. Please send us an inquiry if you have any specific questions regarding events. Please remember that you are staying in a house, not a hotel. Please treat the space with respect. If any problems arise we will do our best to take action ASAP. Please read the guest manual before arriving. It includes important instructions about parking, how to manage the heating and cooling in the suite and recommendations for restaurants as well. If you need the pack 'n play, high chair or booster seat please let us know upon booking as these are provided on an as need basis when requested. We aim to provide a peaceful and scent-neutral environment to ensure that each guest experiences a healthy, comfortable, and enjoyable stay with us. Burning, vaporizing, smoking, diffusing, or cooking anything that leaves a distinct odor after your departure or finding any drugs or evidence of partying violates this policy and will result in a $250 restoration fee. Smoking is STRICTLY prohibited anywhere on the property or inside the suite.
