Jura is a charming cabin with hot tub, set within an ancient oakwood forest, with stunning views across open meadows, Loch Awe and the mountains beyond. Loch Aweside Forest Cabins is a truly magical location, surrounded by the great outdoors, amazing scenery and abundant wildlife. Well equipped south facing cabin with hot tub, ideal for your self-catering holiday needs at any time of year. There's loads to see and do in the area but the cabin location is tranquil and off the beaten track. The space The cabin sleeps up to 6, in three bedrooms and has open plan living / dining area, kitchen. shower room, 1st floor sitting area, elevated veranda, electric hot tub (extra £102 / stay), garden adjacent to meadows and ample parking. Free wi-fi PLEASE NOTE: TOWELS ARE NOT PROVIDED. It is positioned on its own private part of the forest complete with a traditional outside fire pit - ideal for roasting sausages and toasting marshmallows whilst gazing at the stars. Accommodation in more detail: - Open plan lounge / dining / kitchen area (6.2m x 3m) with patio doors leading to a large Veranda with open views towards Loch Awe. - On the ground floor there is 1 double bedroom, a small twin bunk bedroom and a compact bathroom complete with shower. - On the upper floor you will find a second double bedroom and a gallery area with an additional sitting area complete with TV / DVD player. Please note that the bedroom space leading from the mezzanine area has no door. - There are 2 TVs - one downstairs and one upstairs with freeview channels. We have a DVD player, board games and air con. - Installed in the kitchen you will find an electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, toaster, kettle and is fully stocked with crockery, cutlery and cooking utensils. - The bathroom (2.8m x 1m) has an instant electric shower providing endless amounts of hot water whenever you need it. - The hot tub is the perfect way to relax and is available for guests use at an extra £102 / stay. Please advise when booking if this is required. - Electric heating in all rooms and double glazing throughout so you will find the cabin very cosy at any time of year. The bedrooms have large glazing areas so some of the windows are not dressed with curtains. See photos. - The large veranda and garden with outdoor furniture enabling you to dine and relax outside and providing plenty of space for storing bikes, boots and other outside equipment. - Please note: The staircase in the cabin is a paddle type ladder and is therefore not suitable for guests with restricted mobility. PLEASE NOTE: TOWELS ARE NOT PROVIDED. THE MAXIMUM NUMBER OF GUESTS WE CAN ACCOMMODATE (INCLUDING INFANTS) IS SIX. PLEASE DO NOT BOOK IF YOUR PARTY (INC INFANTS) IS MORE THAN THIS, AS WE WILL BE UNABLE TO ACCEPT SAID BOOKING & WILL NEED TO CANCEL SUCH. Guest access The cabin is for your exclusive use but our House Keeper is close by if required. The cabin is positioned in front of a large playing field providing an open aspect with views to the Loch. Children can play safely in the garden and on playing field, while being watched from the cabin or veranda. Other things to note There is a restaurant and bar in the village, which is privately run and operates seasonal opening hours. The village is only a 5 minute walk away where you will also find a local shop/post office /cafe, perfect for topping up on the essentials. Take away meals are also available. If you are leaving the car behind for the day the cabin is just a short 2 minute stroll to the Lochside and forest tracks. With over 100 miles of forest trails there is plenty walking and cycling tracks to discover and spectacular scenery to enjoy. You can hire mountain bikes on the cabin site. With a 23 mile Loch on your door step you can easily enjoy lochside strolls or try your hand at fishing for brown trout or boating and canoeing on Loch Awe. Fishing rights within the cabin site is included with your booking and there is also the facility to hire a boat on the cabin site so you can explore the shoreline or the islands on the loch. You will be staying in the picturesque and peaceful surroundings of Argyll on Scotland's west coast so you will be perfectly located to explore the Highlands and Islands of Western Scotland. As far as nearby facilities are concerned Taynuilt is located 14 miles from the cabin where you can find a grocery store, butcher, tea room, post office and hotel and bar. Oban the popular coastal tourist destination is only 29 miles to the West from the cabin and has a wide range of shops, supermarkets, places to eat and visit.
