Hemingway Cottage: cozy, relaxing, scenic, local
This cozy, 2 bedroom, 1 bath, 1935, Hemingway style cottage is close to historic New Port Richey, Florida. Our house is renovated with modern equipment and comfortably furnished. It has a fully equipped kitchen, living room with TV and WiFi. The bathroom is handicapped accessible. Both bedrooms have “queen” beds. Washing machine & dryer are in the Florida room, where you can also sit comfortably at a table with 6 chairs. The garden is fenced and there is parking for cars and boats. Surroundings: Our Hemingway Cottage is within walking distance of cafes, restaurants and the center of New Port Richey. It's right on Sims Park and very close to picturesque Orange Lake, which is a great place to go for a walk! You can walk through Sims Park to Main Street or walk along the scenic Pithlachascotee River. Sims Park has a wonderful covered children's playground and a small water park for children, with a fitness corner for the older ones and an amphi theater! New Port Richey and thus Sims Park host many events such as the Chasco streets and boat parade in March, the Christmas parade and boat parade in December, various outdoor films, concerts, outdoor markets, etc. You can see the public boat ramp that is on Main Street and River Road from the house. You could also launch kayaks or an inflatable boat into the water from Sims Park. History: New Port Richey seemed to be another Hollywood in the 1920s, or at least a winter vacation for Hollywood stars. Famous people came among others Irving Berlin, Gene Sarazan, Charlie Chaplin, Gloria Swanson, Johnny Cash and Shirley Temple. Many famous people spent time here and attended social events in the Hacienda Hotel, right on Sims Park. The hacienda is currently being renovated. Other: Other parks nearby include Starkey Park, Green Key Beach and James E. Gray Preserve. Howard Park Beach and Tarpons Springs are approximately 8 miles from New Port Richey. Other nearby are e.g. B. Busch Gardens, Florida Aquarium, Ybor City and the Dalli Museum. Generally, we are always a text or a phone call away to help with concerns and to asssist. Downtown New Port Richey is in walking distance with many Restaurants, shops, Ice cream parlors and night entertainment. Directly across the street is the Pithlacotee river and beautiful Sims Park with Orange lake. The location is great for relaxing walks, bike rides or just to sit outside and enjoy Florida.
