Charming 2-bedroom, 1-bath, lakefront cottage on Lake George. With enough space to comfortably sleep 6 in the winter and 8 in the spring and summer, this cozy cottage boasts an updated, rustic cottage interior, deck overlooking the water, a large dock, 2 kayaks, a stand up paddle board, firepit, and amazing lake views. Only one mile from Shingle Lake park and beach. The space Welcome to our family cottage! We love our cottage and are here as much as possible, but welcome you to enjoy it on the weeks we cannot. It is lakefront at its best. All eating and entertaining areas face the lake. Start your day by walking out of your bedroom and stopping at the wet bar to brew a fresh cup of coffee to take to the deck or to curl up with on the couch, overlooking the water. If you get up early enough, you can catch a beautiful sunrise from any of the cozy indoor or outdoor seating areas. Follow it up with breakfast for you and your group in the downstairs kitchen, where a table for 6-8 sits next to the window with water views. From there, you can enjoy any of the water activities included onsite: stand up paddle boarding, kayaking with the two on-site kayaks, fishing off the dock with included fishing poles and gear, swimming or floating on the sandy bottom lake, or just relaxing with a book and beverage on the dock or deck overlooking the water. Offsite activities to enjoy include: several local golf courses, zip lining, fishing, or nature trails. In the winter months, visit nearby Snow Snake Ski resort for skiing, snow boarding or tubing, enjoy snowmobiling on local seasonal roads and trails or the Pere Marquette state trail, go ice fishing on the lake, or hike, snowshoe, or cross-country ski on local nature trails. For dinner, venture into town to grab some delicious takeout pizza or other local eats, or pick up fresh steak from Lake George Grocery and grill out next to the water, on the covered lower level patio area with outdoor dining table. A fire pit provides s’mores for dessert. If you choose to relax inside for the night, you’ll fall in love with the main floor wet bar, high ceilings and stone fireplace that make up the comfortable, welcoming, living room. Sleeping areas include: In Bedroom 1, a queen bed with dresser, in Bedroom 2, a double bed with closet, in the living room, a queen-sized sofa bed looking out at the lake, and in the three seasons room, a full-sized futon, also overlooking the lake. (The three seasons room is fully enclosed and has a space heater for cooler evenings.) Note: Maximum occupancy is 8 people. Guests cannot bring any additional people – no matter how long – and parties are not permitted. We have great relationships with our neighbors on either side and would like to respect their homes and time on the lake. Guest access Guests have access to all parts of the property (other than storage shed and mechanical room of the house). Other things to note Cottage Features: Amenities include: free WiFi, portable air conditioning unit, gas fireplace, and deck on main/upper level. On the lower level, a well-equipped kitchen with dining table, along with gas grill, outdoor patio dining area, fire pit, 2 kayaks, a stand up paddle board, and large dock outside of the lower level walkout. (Note: a variety of life jackets also provided, both child and adult sizes) Lake George is a 4-mile long all sports lake. The depth at the dock is approximately 3’ and can be used for runabouts, pontoons, PWC’s etc. Location: 20 minutes from Clare and 40 minutes from Mount Pleasant. Maximum occupancy is 8 people.
