Grill dinner and eat on the covered deck, sit in Adirondack chairs at the firepit while the sun sets over the lake. In winter, skate or snowmobile on the frozen lake, or ski at nearby Gunstock Resort. ADVENTURE SEEKERS The direct lake access with provided kayaks, a canoe and paddleboards, combined with proximity to skiing, hiking and biking trails, makes it an ideal base for year-round outdoor activities. Other activities within a 15-minute drive include disc golf and mini golf. FULLY RENOVATED New bathrooms, kitchen, living spaces, a new gas fireplace and furnace, new split heating and air conditioning systems. OPEN LIVING/DINING/KITCHEN with extensive views across the lake -- it feels like you're on a boat. KITCHEN WITH EVERYTHING A COOK COULD DREAM OF Induction range, Cuisinart food processor, Kitchenaid stand mixer, Osterizer blender, electric grill, rice cooker, full range of pots, pans and serving dishes, outdoor gas grill. COFFEE ANY WAY YOU WANT We have a drip coffee machine, French press, Italian moka pot and Nespresso machine with frother (bring your own capsules). COFFEE PACKET FOR FIRST MORNING Plus tea, spices and basic supplies like salt and pepper, baking soda and baking powder. SECOND REFRIGERATOR in the garage offers plenty of space for all your food and drinks. 3 COMMUNAL LIVING AREAS IN TOTAL: - the living/dining space - special pine paneled room with 3 walls of windows facing the lake - movie theater/kids play area THE SUNROOM overlooks the lake with views of both sunrises and sunsets. Sit with your cup of coffee and watch the light move across the wooded edges of the lake. AT NIGHT GATHER BY THE FIREPLACE with your favorite drink, or snuggle into the comfy, OVERSIZED SECTIONAL IN THE MOVIE THEATRE. ARTWORK FROM AROUND THE WORLD This is a unique property that has art collected by the host who has lived and traveled across the world -- wire sculpture from South Africa, vintage posters from Vietnam and Switzerland, paintings from American artists, pottery from France and Portugal, rugs from the Middle East, hanging art and baskets from Burkina Faso and The Gambia in Africa. Hand crocheted and vintage blankets provide cozy warmth. SLEEPING All rooms have views onto the lake. One bedroom on the main level can also serve as an office. It has a desk and monitor, a queen bed and a bathroom with shower next to it. Upstairs there are 2 more bedrooms, one has a queen bed and the other a king bed. These share a spacious bathroom with large glass shower, a soaking tub and large vanity. In the walk-out lower level, there is a large sleeping room with a bunk bed with a double on the bottom and single on the top, as well as 2 twin beds. THE BASICS All high quality linens and towels, full-temperature control for heating and cooling (AC in each bedroom), 2 smart TVs (one on the main level and one in the walk-out lower level). High-speed wifi and several work areas. There are window and ceiling fans. Both bathrooms have a hair dryer, and there's an LG high-capacity washer and dryer. Because of its privileged position in the no-wake zone, the water is calm and ethereal -- mornings and evenings are truly spectacular with beautiful sunrises and sunsets. LOCAL ACTIVITIES When you're ready for a change of pace, you don't have to go far. The Locke Lake Community has FREE OF CHARGE: • several private beaches • tennis, pickleball and basketball courts • baseball diamond • 6-hole golf course Nearby are many attractions, including bike trails, zip lines and gondola rides. Within 15 minutes you can be hiking the famous Mount Major trail and others, or visiting Alton Bay with its marina and water-side restaurants. Within 30 minutes, Gunstock Mountain offers hikes and skiing. Catch a steamship crossing Lake Winnipesaukee at the pretty village of Wolfeboro. Weirs Beach offers plenty of fun for the family. All high-traffic areas and surfaces are disinfected in addition to standard cleaning protocols. The deck has a protective barrier that keeps children safe. Smoke, carbon dioxide and gas detectors and a first aid kit are provided. NOTE: A security camera is mounted on the garage wall facing the front door. It records audio/visual when motion is detected and ceases when motion ends. It is not actively monitored, and only reviewed in emergencies or for damage assessment. We value privacy and have no intention of monitoring guests. EASY GUEST ACCESS Self-check-in with access code. Parking for up to 4 cars (best 3 or fewer). GREEN SUSTAINABILITY We are committed to reducing our environmental footprint in a number of ways: • Honeycomb blinds provide an insulated barrier • Smart thermostats, LED lights and high efficiency appliances reduce energy consumption • High efficiency propane furnace and mini splits provide the heat where needed and reduce waste • Nonbreakable dishes and cups are made from renewable bamboo • Our cleaning products are eco-friendly – safe for you and the environment LANDSCAPING: • We use native plants that don’t require extra water and that attract bees and butterflies. • A rain garden was built at the lower edge of the house. Water flowing downhill goes into this small pond, reducing the amount of pesticides and other contaminants going into the lake. • We use an electric lawnmower to increase air quality and reduce noise. FURNISHINGS – many of our tables are handmade with only hand tools by Brendan, the property manager, from old timbers and tree trunks. • Outdoor dining table • Console table • Coffee table in the living room • Coffee table in the sunroom We encourage BUYING LOCAL and provide a list of nearby restaurants and activities. We also HIRE LOCAL PEOPLE to clean so they don’t have to drive far, reducing the carbon footprint and increasing the local economy. We're a member of the Locke Lake Health Committee, and volunteer on projects to keep our lake clean. We provide a full range of non-motorized boats to support a quiet, clean lake. Guest access Guests have access to the full house with private beach and dock. Other things to note This is a place for families and quiet gatherings of friends. Loud parties, cigarettes, e-cigarettes and inhaled marijuana are not allowed. Guests are expected to follow a few rules before leaving, such as putting garbage in outside containers, turning off air conditioning or lowering heating, locking doors and windows, and following the Locke Lake Association rules provided when booking. We cannot be responsible for change of weather, lake conditions or temporary local or state restrictions regarding the lake or fire pits. No refunds will be issued for these things that are beyond our control. Use of boats and sports equipment is at your own risk and responsibility.
