Romantic Highland hideaway - Baltinna East Lodge

The Baltinnas are a pair of adjoining but completely separate lodge style properties, they are the perfect countryside getaway for couples. The award winning Scottish architect created a beautiful, spacious, light filled contemporary space with the use of partially open, double-height living room to great effect. The bedroom looks down on the dining area below, and has wooden beams with romantic twinkly lights. Parking & secure bike store on site. Ski resorts Cairngorm and Nevis Range nearby. The space The open-plan modern kitchen/dining area has bags of character, a wood-burning stove and oak floors. Baltinna East benefits from some nice practical touches like a separate utility/drying room with pulley - really useful for the hikers, bikers and kayakers who come to stay here. That and the large porch add to the feeling of roominess in East. There's a 43 " smart TV in the living space with Freesat (various streaming services are available with your own log-ins) and a DVD player with a good selection of DVDs. The downstairs wet room is tiled and has a shower, wash basin and toilet. The first floor bedroom, with king size bed, looks down on the dining area below, and has wooden beams strung with romantic twinkly lights. There are very large velux windows with electric blinds, and a seat to enjoy a book from the huge library of Scottish and local reference books. Upstairs there's also a wash hand basin with plenty of space for toiletries and extra storage. Portable bluetooth speakers are provided. Wooden skis, snow shoes, vintage posters and small alpine touches add to the chalet inspired decor, which is a nod to the local winter-sports culture and was mostly collected by the owners who worked as ski instructors in France for many years. Outside there's a small sitting out area and enclosed front and back garden which makes the most of the light and sun all day long - perfect for our long Highland summer evenings. This superb property is Visit Scotland 4 star rated. Guests love it and it has exceedingly high feedback ratings. Parking and secure bike storage shed on site. Baltinna East is fantastic value for couples and solo travelers who don’t want or need to book a multiple bedroom, larger and pricier holiday home only to use a small part of it. Other things to note 1 dog only free and welcome - please let us know if you are bringing your pet. The dog must not be left alone in the property. Most of our changeovers are 'same-day' but we'll message you if we are able to be ready for you any earlier - there are local cafes and things to sight-see if you do arrive in the area ahead of these timings.
