Welcome to the Bushkill House, an outdoor lover’s dream! Spend your visit hiking the nearby trails, skiing or snowboarding on Belleayre Mountain, or exploring the historic villages of the Catskills. When you’re done adventuring, relax at home in our hot tub overlooking the creek, recharge in our spa-quality sauna, or make memories around the firepit. Appreciate the details of a 100 year old home truly built with care. Much of the house was creatively renovated and furnished w/restored antiques. The space Our home offers 3 bedrooms. One bedroom has two twin size beds, two bedrooms each have a queen size bed, and each bedroom has a dresser and closet to put away your belongings. There is one full bathroom on the second floor with a shower and tub, and one three-quarter bathroom on the first floor with a shower. There is a washer and dryer available for use. The living room is cozy with two large couches, a smart TV, a wide variety of books, games, a piano and CD/cassette tape/record player. The dining area is spacious and comfortably sits 8. The kitchen has ample counter space, a convection oven, induction stove top, dishwasher, and is stocked with all the essentials for those who love to cook. The breakfast bar offers extra seating in the dining area. Enjoy your morning coffee on the furnished front porch, and relax with family and friends out back around the picnic table and fire pit while cooking dinner on the gas grill. And feel free to take a dip in the creek on a hot day! The home has cell service and is equipped with high speed WiFi to keep you digitally connected for recreation or remote work. Guest access The house and grounds are for your exclusive use during your reserved time. There is plenty of space in the driveway for three vehicles. Other things to note Location & Nearby Attractions The property is located in the charming Village of Fleischmanns, right in the heart of the Catskills. Across the street, you’ll find a large open field with beautiful mountain views — perfect for picnicking, tossing a ball, or simply relaxing in the fresh mountain air. Just down the street is a quaint local park featuring a jungle gym, tennis courts, and a baseball diamond — a great spot for families and outdoor fun. Around the corner, Main Street offers a small-town experience with everything you need: a grocery store, liquor store, art gallery, family-owned restaurants, and the local library. The house is only minutes from Belleayre Mountain, a beloved destination for skiing and snowboarding in the winter, and hiking, biking, and scenic gondola rides in the warmer months. A short drive will also take you to Adler Lake, scenic parks with snowshoeing and cross-country ski trails, Esopus Creek for fly fishing, and countless mountain trails suited for hikers of all ages and experience levels. For a day trip, the historic town of Woodstock is just a short, scenic drive away — perfect for exploring shops, art, and live music. Important House & Safety Information Firewood Firewood is not provided. Guests may purchase firewood at local gas stations or along the way to the property. Please note that during certain conditions, local or state burn bans may restrict the use of outdoor fires (see “Burn Bans & Safety Notices” below). Wildlife & Insects Being in the woods means you may occasionally encounter wildlife or insects — it’s all part of the natural mountain experience. We take proactive measures to prevent small critters like mice from entering the home. If traps are used, they’re discreetly and safely placed. Bugs and ticks are common outdoors. We recommend bug spray from spring through fall and performing tick checks after spending time outside. Weather & Road Conditions Mountain weather can be unpredictable — expect snow, ice, rain, mud, and sudden changes in conditions. We do our best to keep paths and walkways clear, but nature sometimes has its own plans. Rock salt is provided for use in winter; however, in extreme cold, ice may refreeze. The driveway is plowed after approximately 3–5 inches of snow, depending on road conditions and the plow schedule. All-Wheel Drive (AWD) vehicles are strongly recommended for travel in this region, particularly in winter. Burn Bans & Safety Notices Living in the mountains means that weather and fire risk can change quickly. Local or state authorities may issue burn bans, road closures, or state of emergency notices that can affect amenities such as outdoor fire pits, campfires, and cooking fires. These orders must be followed when in effect. Failure to comply may result in fines issued by local fire or police departments. Please understand that these situations are beyond our control, and we cannot be held responsible for any restrictions that may occur.
