This lovely, restored apartment is close to Jerome, Sedona, Grand Canyon. It faces our gorgeous shared view deck, and is light and spacious, with great morning sunshine, and Sedona and red rock views, to the east. This apartment features an original claw foot bathtub, with a shower conversion kit. It's pretty neat, but not the best choice for anyone with balance or mobility issues. Please request one of our other lovely apartments, if that's the case. The Clarkdale Lodge is an historic building that was built in 1914 and originally used as a boarding house for unmarried employees of the local copper smelter. It was subsequently converted into apartments which we are now modernizing to a high standard while preserving historic details where possible. All apartments are tastefully furnished and have HDTV's in both sitting and bedrooms. High speed Internet access is provided throughout via WiFi, and kitchens are fully equipped and ready to use. The deck you see in the photos is a large shared area accessed from the upstairs hall. It has gorgeous views and makes a perfect place to sit and have a glass of wine in the early evenings. There is a shaded patio area underneath it on the ground floor for when the weather is too warm to sit in the sun. In addition to the apartment you are staying in, all guests have access to a public sitting area upstairs stocked with books and games, and a second story open deck overlooking the Verde Valley. I'm nearly always working around the place, most usually on the garden. If I'm not on site, I'm seldom far away. Clarkdale is a small place and I live within eyesight of the lodge. Clarkdale is a lovely small town, with 2 good restaurants (Mexican, and American), 2 neighborhood bars, a wonderful bakery/cafe, 2 museums, a wine tasting room, and a charming small Town Park, just across the street from the Lodge. The local Verde Canyon Railroad is not to be missed, if you'd enjoy a scenic and relaxing afternoon outing into some great back country. Clarkdale is a great town for walking, too, with sweet and inviting little neighborhoods to explore. Please note that this particular apartment features an original clawfoot tub, with an overhead shower kit. It may not be the best option for anyone with balance issues, due to its original design. Feel free to request a different unit if this is the case.
