This building was the headquarters for The Woman's Century Club, the oldest service organization in the city, which was founded in 1900. All their meetings and many special events were held here from 1929 until 2016. This bright and cheerful home has been updated and eclectically decorated by a world-traveling couple, who are owners of a commercial photography business downtown and practicing fine artists. Most of the artwork in the home is their own or the work of other local artists. A resource binder with information and history about the house and recommendations for local destinations and activities is on the downstairs kitchen table. The same information is available digitally in the Guidebook included with this listing and includes handy links to most of the places mentioned. The clubhouse has convenient keyless entry with self-check-in, and reliable WiFi. The large driveway provides off-street parking for multiple vehicles. There is a concrete wheelchair ramp for accessibility, and an enclosed sunporch with two seating areas, and a table that seats 6. Downstairs includes a spacious combined living room/dining room area; a roomy farm-style kitchen with a vintage island table and lots of counter space, perfect for cooking or catering; and a convenient bedroom on the same level with a queen-size bed; and an adjacent updated bathroom with large shower. The living room features white leather couches facing a wood-burning fireplace and 55” flat-screen smart TV; an additional conversation area with queen sleeper sofa; a small stage with a full-size Murphy bed; and a baby grand piano. Outdoors you'll find a spacious, fenced back yard that includes a firepit surrounded by flower beds, a custom water feature, covered/shaded comfortable seating, a propane BBQ, and a large lawn area. The side yard provides a private outdoor seating area and a charcoal BBQ grill. The upstairs features a cozy living room with Smart TV/Roku; a tiny retro kitchen with full-sized appliances and a breakfast counter; and two queen bedrooms with an updated shared bathroom (large glass-door shower) in between. Each bedroom and the living room have separately controlled heat/AC units, plus ceiling fans. Betty's painting studio plus the laundry room and housekeeping area are located in the basement, a photo studio in the free-standing garage, and landscaping maintenance as required, so you may very well see others coming and going.
