Please do not book the Chickadee Chalet if your group intends to do heavy drinking, blare music and be loud disruptive guests. If you bring a pet, you must clear it with me first. Please note that there is a non-refundable $100 pet cleaning fee. We ask that if you bring a pet, you follow the cabin rules; the pet(s) must be housebroken, never allowed onto furniture, and clean up after your pet. All waste must be bagged and then put into a larger kitchen bag. The kitchen is small to average size. The stove/oven is 24" wide which is 4" narrower than standard. The dishwasher is 18" wide which is 6" narrower than standard. Large pots, cutting boards cannot fit into the dishwasher. The first floor (basement), has a 4th bedroom (BR) and a semi-private 5th BR, and has a half bathroom in the laundry room. The forest around us is a habitat for wildlife. We believe in biodiversity and it is entirely possible to see a multitude of birds, rabbits, deer herds, ground hogs, oppossum, raccoons, bears and any other organism that lives in the mountains. Summer months: We do have AC, but only in the first level (basement). Most cabins in the resort do not have air conditioning because we are in the mountains and there are far more cool days/nights than warm. However, if there is an unusual heat spell, the AC in the basement allows you to comfortably play games, sleep, watch TV and work in at least one area of the cabin. The other two upper floors, you can cool off by turning on the fans and opening the windows to allow the cool mountain breezes into the chalet. With all that said, the average temp, even in July/August is 75 degrees F. Love that mountain weather! This property is not accessible for people with mobility issues as the only way to get to the kitchen, main living area and showers is to go up one set of stairs.
