Fit up to 14 travelers in this homey 4-bedroom cabin: 1 king room, 1 queen room, 1 full room, and a bunk room with four full beds that will send you back to your time at summer camp. You’ll find 2 and a half baths, a fully equipped kitchen and dining area, and a living room with board games. The covered back patio is fitted with a hot tub and propane grill with golf course and mountain views. The backyard is spacious and has a fire-pit. Multi-car parking and a garage are also available. Caldera Cabin is located in the quiet gateway community of Island Park and backs up directly to the Island Park Village Resort Golf Course. Great central location close to a gas station, grocery store, restaurants, and a handful of outdoor access points: West Entrance of Yellowstone National Park (seasonal access open generally from the third Friday of April through the second Monday of November): 28 minutes Targhee National Forest: 7 minutes Caribou-Targhee National Forest: 52 minutes Henry’s Fork / Big Springs: 5-10 minutes Town of West Yellowstone: 25 minutes Upper & Lower Mesa Falls: 35 minutes Grand Teton National Park: 2.5 hours Given Island Park's remote location, we encourage guests to have a car (with four-wheel drive and/or chains for the winter months) to experience the area. Several other guests also enjoy biking around the area during the summertime and snowmobiling, cross-country skiing, and snowshoeing during the winter. Winters are intense here. Snow shedding from the roof, as well as icy/snowy walkways, can be dangerous and difficult to pass, particularly for people with ambulatory issues. The HOA plows the neighborhood streets but keeps a thin layer of snow for snowmobilers. We’re also subject to mountain snowstorms that can occur early in fall and well into the spring. The western gates to Yellowstone close seasonally, generally beginning the second Monday of November and reopening the third Friday of April. Fire season typically falls between summer and early fall in the area, so air quality may be unhealthy during this time, particularly among sensitive groups. Finally, the bunk beds in the upstairs bedroom have been replaced with four full beds due to safety issues. We hope you enjoy this neck of the woods as much as we do. Welcome to the greater Yellowstone region! Guests will be able to access the front yard, back yard, hot tub, garage and all other amenities. E-Bikes are available for rent. If you’re visiting during the winter, consider snow tires, snow chains, and any other supplies you may want for winter conditions. Parking: Ample parking is available in the driveway, which can fit roughly four cars (or fewer if you're bringing a trailer or boat). Our garage also fits two cars. Please don't park on the street per HOA rules. Before you book, read on to learn about a couple of property quirks to make sure we’re the right fit for your outdoor adventure: We love hosting dogs, so let us know if you plan to bring your furry friend(s) along and we'll send some extra info your way. Our pet fee is $50 per stay. We can accommodate a maximum of two dogs (and dogs only at this time), but get in touch with us if you have a special circumstance. When we say "rustic,” we mean it. Our Caldera Cabin is a no-frills, back-to-basics den designed to take you back to your summer camp days, and sometimes our “old school” shows: winter nights can get chilly, you may see an occasional four-to-eight-legged friend around the property or grounds, and the driveway’s covered in a layer of snow and ice from fall to spring. We like to think of ourselves as an extension of the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem, so it’s all part of the fun! We have great new Wi-Fi. We love traveling with our dogs and encourage our guests to do so responsibly as well! Our pet fee is $50 per stay. This helps us cover the extra time required by our cleaners to sanitize the unit and remove any pet fur (*just* in case our next batch of guests don’t love doggos as much as we do). The cabin is a quick and easy 20 minute drive to West Yellowstone! Month Long Stays: guests are responsible for snow removal (driveway and walkway only - multiple shovels and salt provided) during their month long stay Guests are also responsible for keeping the cabin clean and tidy during their stay. Guests must also service the hot tub themselves after each use or they must pay for a weekly hot tub service to be performed. There are cleaning services and snow removal services available for hire.
