This newly renovated, Scandinavian inspired, post-and-beam home is stylish and serene and ideal for gathering with family and friends. Perched on 26-acres with its own swimming hole, sledding hill, fire pit, game room and guest cabin, this countryside retreat is also an easy drive to the best skiing in Vermont, the charming town of South Royalton, picturesque Woodstock, and Dartmouth College, making it a true year-round recreational haven. The main house is a three story 5-bedroom, 3.5 bath house with a sun-filled living room and kitchen ideal for hanging out, cooking, watching movies, playing games, reading and relaxing. There's also a huge mud room (ideal in the winter) and game room with ping-pong, foosball, darts and a large TV for gaming or watching. The bedrooms are very comfortable and sleep up to 11 people. In addition to the main house, there is also a two-bedroom guest cabin with a small bathroom and kitchenette. The cabin is included for parties of 10 or more. For parties of less than 10, please inquire about pricing to add the cabin. There is a barn, garage and sugar shack on the property that are not occupied, and guests do not have access. Fifteen minutes from South Royalton, a quintessential Vermont small town (seen in the opening shot of the Gilmore Girls) and home to cute cafes, and a charming, well-stocked market. Only 25 minutes from elegant Woodstock, home to the renowned Woodstock Inn, fantastic restaurants, bookstores and boutique shopping, as well as the Marsh-Billings-Rockefeller National Historical Park, and its ski mountain. Hanover, New Hampshire and Dartmouth College, are also 25 minutes away and Killington ski resort and summer adventure center is 50 minutes away. Vermont's upper-valley is rich with opportunities for swimming, tubing, kayaking, hiking, farmer's markets and fruit-picking in the spring/summer/fall and skiing, snowshoeing and iceskating in the winter. Plus charming antique stores, shops and restaurants all year round. Parking for multiple cars is available on the premises. In the winter, 4-wheel drive is required and snow tires are advisable. There is a park & ride 10 minutes away, where you can leave non-snow-worthy cars and shuttle guests as necessary. The road can be very muddy between March-May. Please note that our pricing is based on the number of guests registered. If it is determined that all guests were not included in the booking an additional fee of $50/additional guest per night will be added to your stay.
