This house is a real treasure, recently renovated with a lot of love and energy and paying a lot of attention to detail. We use local materials and it is very elegant and cozy. Facing south, the house is very, very bright and because it has windows in each room, there is always a little air, even in summer. It has good views of the Sierra de Lujar in front and also of the Sierra Nevada in the North. It is in the middle of Orgiva, in a very quiet alley. If you are looking for something special, this is it! The space Garzopo is a real treasure! We invested a lot of love and positive energy, and we believe that this can be seen and felt now that everything is finished. Everything flows, the same style and theme run through the entire house and garden in harmony, all construction and decoration materials match and enhance each other. You'll be able to stay even longer and you'll find yourself noticing more and more details more and more often. Guest access For Easter and the end of the year we ask for a minimum stay of 4 nights. When entering Garzopo from the garage, you can go up to the house or go out into the garden. Entering the garden, you first enter what we call "the winter garden", a corner of benches with its table, Moorish style, made of work and roofed to provide shade in summer and protection in the very, very few rainy days in winter. Next door is a bathroom with shower and washing machine. From here a spiral staircase leads up to the first floor. Entering the garden, the pool is on your left. There is an outdoor shower and then a few steps to the pool. The pool is heated with a heat pump (additional charge according to use) and has an integrated built-in bench where you can enjoy the air bubbles (jacuzzi). Everything is tiled with very exclusive Italian glass tiles. We kept all 5 trees that were there when we bought the garden (2 lemon trees, an orange tree, a mandarin and a very old avocado tree), offering plenty of shade and quiet corners. There is a pergola to sit under, a charming and very secluded corner sitting under a lemon tree and another corner with a large table under the avocado tree. Of course, you'll also find a barbecue. Upstairs we have the large open-plan living room with dining room and kitchen, very spacious, open and bright, with many windows. Even in summer, a light refreshing breeze will always run through the house, making it very nice and comfortable. As in most of the house, we use river cane for the roof, supported by the original beams and tied together with "zoga" a handmade rope made from a local sharp grass (esparto) and in old times a common building material. The kitchen is fully equipped, with a dishwasher, an oven and a microwave and of course all the other utensils, etc., that one uses these days, such as a kettle, a toaster Passing through the dining area that takes you to a terrace, overlooking the garden and with views of the church and the Sierra Lujar mountain range. There is another dining table and chairs outside, always giving you the option to eat inside or outside. The living room has a large and comfortable sofa bed next to a fireplace (with a glass facade), there is also another built-in sofa. A built-in bookcase, satellite TV and of course WiFi. The whole house has underfloor heating (heated with biomass such as olive pits and almond shells) for the colder months of the year. The whole house is very well insulated and the windows have double glazing, which means it will be cool during the summer and warm in winter. This hallway leads to the staircase, which takes you either downstairs, to enter the garage or the road. Or go upstairs, where the master bedroom, another bedroom, and a bathroom are located. The master bedroom faces south, opening onto a large terrace, with magnificent views beyond the church and across the Sierra de Lujar. Part of the terrace is covered to provide shade in summer. The bedroom also has a west-facing window, with a breeze running almost all the time, making it very pleasant in summer. The bedroom has an attached bathroom (shared with the other bedroom). It is a large, bright and well-ventilated bathroom, which also opens onto the terrace. The pipe from the fireplace below runs through the bathroom, providing an extra means of heating in winter. Other things to note Shortly after we started preparing the house for the work, Paco the bricklayer called us to tell us that he could not continue with this work, fearing that the whole house could fall down. He went in search of a friend (architect/technician) to get his professional opinion. He came and after a complete inspection advised us to tear down the house. I told him never and asked his advice "B", he looked at the house again and then told us again to tear it down! Later one day we went to the construction site and we met again with this architect, he was talking to other builders and Naomi happened to hear how I told them that I had never seen a house in such a state... Paco didn't want to leave the doors and windows facing north open, for fear that a strong gust could bring the house down. At first I laughed, thinking he was joking, but then I realized he was very serious! The pool has an integrated Jacuzzi type and is air-conditioned at a small extra charge, depending on the Kw used. In winter it has underfloor heating, but there is also a fireplace, and we provide firewood at an extra charge.
