Other things to note Mayfly celebration on Lake Erie marks the beginning of Summer and typically runs May - July. You never know how long they'll stay to visit or how many will show up for the party. The most important thing to know about mayflies is that while they look like a moth with a tail, they do NOT bite or sting. They tickle like a butterfly if they land on you but they can NOT hurt you. Our outside is wiped down the day of arrival of spider webs and spiders, with this being said the summer does attract spiders and bugs. We do regular sprays to help with keeping them under control, just know you may encounter spiders and it webs.
