The space The Byre is a light-filled 2 bedroom property with a real feeling of space and a stylish interior. Built on the foundations of the original village dairy, the Byre now welcomes guests who are looking for somewhere special to stay. In the heart of Newtonmore so that you can stroll to the village pubs and with everything just on the doorstep! Enjoying spectacular views over the golf course and Cairngorm Mountains this eco-friendly, detached holiday cottage is finished with a mix of traditional materials, like the oak floors and handbuilt stone wall, and contemporary furnishings, such as the big comfy white leather sofas. The large open plan ground floor is a multi-functional space of living room with wood-burning stove and large kitchen/dining area with hand-crafted solid wood furniture. Chat, dine, watch tv (there's a smart TV with various streaming services available; bring your own log-ins, plus fast wifi), listen to music, look out of the panoramic patio doors onto the stunning views - above all it's a relaxing space perfect to unwind in. Upstairs there's the spacious master bedroom with romantic kingsize brass bed, chesterfield sofa and it's own en-suite bathroom. This has a luxury roll-top bath and we even supply the bathsalts, plus there's a separate shower cubicle and toilet, and a heated towel rail. Portable bluetooth speakers are provided. The twin bedroom has a TV / DVD in case guests want to watch different programs, a supply of books, and again plenty of space. The twin room also has its own en-suite shower room with large shower, toilet, wash hand basin and heated towel rail. A secluded, fully south-facing decked terrace (with outdoor furniture) is accessed by the patio doors off the lounge, and it overlooks the aspen and scots -pine tree lined back garden. The deck is the perfect spot for lunch or to unwind with a glass of wine watching the light changing on the Cairngorms. Keep an eye out for the red squirrels who come to feed very regularly at the feeder! There's plenty of on site (free) parking and as well as the deck at the opposite side of the house there is a small enclosed, dog friendly, lawned front garden with a bench, and this area enjoys afternoon sun. (The rear garden below the deck is accessed by a rough path only and is laid out cottage style/semi-wild/bee-friendly and leads down towards the golf clubhouse). Guest access The Byre is self contained and detached. Other things to note 1 well behaved dog welcome and free - please let us know if you plan to bring a pet. The dog must not be left alone in the property. Please do not allow your dog up on the beds or sofa/soft furnishings - thank you. Please note that our check-in time is 4pm (or anytime after as there is a self-check-in key box) and CHECK OUT by 10am at the latest - thank you for your understanding and for not arriving at the property before 4pm. Most of our changeovers are 'same-day' but we'll message you if we are able to be ready for you any earlier - there are local cafes and things to sight-see if you do arrive in the area ahead of these timings. We hope you understand why we need to adhere to strict check-out timings - we need this time for cleaning and essential maintenance, and we are committed to making your stay as safe and pleasant as possible.
