This newly constructed garage apartment is in a desirable location, close to the village of Bar Harbor, Acadia National Park, and Kebo Golf Course. The space is designed to be bright and comfortable, with its own entrance and 1-2 outdoor parking spaces. The walk to town is easily done within 10-15 minutes, allowing you to skip parking fees. The space is pet-friendly, but there is a standard pet fee. When booking, please let us know if you are bringing a four-legged friend. There are stairs leading up to the apartment, so guests must be comfortable and able to climb. The apartment has a studio feel, but does have a separate bedroom for privacy. There is a queen bed in the bedroom, and a futon in the living room. Wifi allows for Amazon and Apple tv streaming. The kitchen space is small, but well equipped for most needs. The bathroom has a shower and a washer/dryer unit. The unit is cooled/heated by a heat pump, so there is air conditioning available in the warmer months. There is a small side yard space for your use only, with a charcoal grill and propane fire pit. We have two river kayaks (only safe for freshwater) that you are welcome to borrow, but you must have a means of transporting them (we do have foam supports and straps for your rack). The location is great, being a short (~8 min) bike ride to Acadia National Park's network of carriage paths, and an easy walk to town (~10-15 mins) so you can avoid parking fees. The Island Explorer passes right by the property, which will take you all over the island for free. There is a local seafood shop (Parson's) 4 doors down, and Kebo Golf Course is just beyond that. Guests have a private entrance to the apartment, their own designated outdoor parking space in the shared driveway, and a small yard area for grilling. The garage and remainder of property are private to the hosts. Well behaved dogs are always welcome! However, if you have pets, please keep them from urinating on the buildings or fences. We want you to feel like you are on vacation and that you do not have to talk to anyone! However, we are also happy to meet you and wish to help you with anything you may need. The neighborhood is safe and quiet. The hosts live right next door, and are available if you need anything. The apartment is on Eagle Lake Rd, which is a main thoroughfare for traffic into and out of Bar Harbor. So, depending on the season, traffic can be busy. If you head left out of the driveway, within a 5-minute drive you will pass Kebo Golf Course, Cadillac Mtn, and Eagle Lake. If you take a right out of the drive, within a 2-minute drive the road comes to an end at the Village Green, where there are many shops and places to eat. The apartment is situated on Eagle Lake Rd, which is the primary thoroughfare between town and the rest of the island; therefore, it can be quite busy.
