Enough space for two (or three) families! In the barn: a huge cathedral-ceiling rec room, a small home gym, a sauna, a hot tub, and a luxurious mountain modern, 2-bedroom apartment (with a large loft space that can serve as a third bedroom). In the Dutch colonial farmhouse: 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. On the property: tennis court, pool (open during summer months only), swingset, sandbox, two grills, and pond. 2 hours to NYC! 10 min. each to Woodstock & Saugerties. The space This property is truly unique with so much to do on site you will never want to leave. Perfect for two or three families or several couples wanting to get away from the city. The property includes fields, woods, a stream, a pond, a cedar jungle gym with swings and a slide, a sandbox, a tennis court, a pool (open May-September), a hot tub, and a barn with incredible mountain views and lots of fun inside and out (piano, small home gym, pool/ping-pong table, two decks, etc.). The barn living space is a new apartment (June 2017) with luxury furnishings. The master barn bedroom has a king bed, while the second bedroom has two twins. The loft space in the barn apartment provides another queen bed. The main house is a beautifully kept historic Dutch colonial with lots of character. Master bedroom has king bed, second bedroom has queen bed + daybed, third bedroom has queen bed. Please note: the barn apartment did not exist before July 2017, so the reviews from before then aren't up to date. Also, we strongly prefer to rent to families & small groups of adults looking for a retreat space. Please, no parties! Guest access The whole property. Other things to note Built in the 1810s, the white farmhouse is the oldest house on Phillips Rd (and one of the oldest in the region). The homestead is a classic example of an Eyebrow Colonial with its series of narrow 2nd story dormer windows. The original house included only what is now the living/dining room and its basement was carved directly out of the bedrock. Over the years, the house was expanded and modified, all the while keeping the original homesteading character. Our cleaning team keeps the house in excellent condition, but given that the house's core is two hundred years old and many of the fixtures are original, you may be aware of its age. We are committed to maintaining the house as a historic structure and hope you will enjoy it. They don’t build them like they used to!
