Family friendly Custer / Black Hills mountain home on 3 gorgeous acres located just 5 minutes from Custer. This custom 4 bedroom, 3.5 bath, 4000 sf home has all of the space and modern amenities your large group needs. It has wrap-around decks and backs up to the Black Hills National Forest. Solitude, spaciousness, comfort, gorgeous views and close proximity to town. One of our guests said that the setting was “magical.” We certainly agree and invite you to come experience it for yourself! This modern mountain house has all of the space, comforts and amenities your large group needs for an enjoyable stay including: A large fully equipped kitchen opens up to the great room on the elevated first floor. The kitchen has a separate breakfast area and sitting room where you can enjoy morning coffee and watch the sun rise. The lofted great room includes a formal dining area with a table big enough to seat your entire group. Patio doors open to the expansive deck. A massive wood burning fireplace anchors the room. It also has TV and large picture windows with gorgeous views all around. The extra-large master bedroom downstairs has a new king size Sleep Number bed where you can dial in your ideal comfort setting. Windows in the master offer beautiful views of the surrounding pines and rock outcroppings. Upstairs is a family room that overlooks the great room and includes a 75” 4K TV where you can watch the game or stream a movie while recovering from your hike up Black Elk Peak or ride on the Mickelson Trail. There are three unique bedrooms upstairs. Bedroom #2 offers a king size bed for the second adult couple in your group. Bedroom #3 is the family bedroom and is equipped with a queen and a full size bed. Bedroom #4 is the kids room (young or old…) and it includes two twin size beds. The home is also equipped with a Pack-n-Play crib and a high chair in the kitchen for littlest ones. Two full bathrooms are located upstairs to accommodate your family and friends. High speed internet makes streaming movies, surfing the internet or catching up on work stuff easy. UPS and FedX deliver to the house so getting items from Amazon and etc. is doable. Cell phone coverage is also very good so you don’t have to worry about connectivity. Your family and friends will be able to enjoy the entire property - by themselves! We are here to help make your stay as enjoyable as possible. Our home is located at the very end of a well maintained county road in a prestigious large lot neighborhood. The only traffic you'll see is the local wildlife passing through! The best way to get around is on foot - hiking in the adjacent National Forest. Town is about 3 miles away - a short drive or an easy bike ride if you are so inclined. Custer is a historic mining town that includes a fun downtown, numerous dining options, good shopping and abundant outdoor adventures. You can rent ATV’s, go hot air ballooning, play golf, arrange for a helicopter tour, go horseback riding, fish for trout, schedule a wildlife jeep tour, learn rock climbing, rent e-bikes, crawl through caves, go kayaking or just explore the many scenic drives, historic sites and hiking trails at your leisure. However, the main allure of Custer is its small town charm and central proximity to many Black Hills attractions including Custer State Park ("the crown jewel of the Black Hills"), Crazy Horse Monument, Mount Rushmore, Jewel Cave National Monument, Wind Cave National Park, Sylvan Lake, Custer Wildlife Loop, Michelson (Bike) Trail, Needles Highway, 1880 Train (Hill City), Centennial (hiking) Trail, Iron Mountain Road, Black Elk Peak, Norbec Wilderness Area and etc. Another less well known feature is the extremely dark skies at night which makes for awe inspiring star gazing. You don’t have to travel far from our place to get the Black Hills mountain experience. Deer and wild turkey will visit you almost every morning and evening. Mature pines, grassy meadows and lichen covered boulders surround you. You might spot an elk in the morning or hear the coyotes at night. Just hanging out on the deck listening to the wind in the trees on a sunny day, playing in the beautiful yard, climbing on the boulders or taking a hike in the adjacent National Forest will bring peace to your soul.
