How to get around Getting to the center of Rome is quick and easy, the metro "C" is fully automated and runs at scheduled times (about every 10 minutes), you can reach San Giovanni (terminus) in 15 minutes. From here you can: - start the visit on foot (which I recommend) of most of the monuments: San Giovanni, Scalinata Santa, San Pietro in Vincoli, Santa Maria Maggiore where the tomb of Pope Francis is located and arrive at the Colosseum. - take the metro "A" and get to the Vatican, Piazza di Spagna, Fontana di Trevi, Pantheon. Or get off at Termini, from there take the metro "B" to the Colosseum. - a convenient alternative is to take a "Hop on hop off" in San Giovanni and tour all the monuments.
