Great Central Location: Our 2 Bedroom (queen bed in each) / 1 Bath Guest House is located in the heart of East Sacramento, walking distance from Mercy Hospital, McKinley Park, as well as numerous coffee houses, restaurants, and bars. The Guest House has fast wireless internet, the 55” TV in the living room has basic cable as well as access to Netflix and Amazon Prime. Both bedrooms include a queen bed. One of the bedrooms has a large desk including a computer with dual monitors for your home office needs during your stay. The kitchen has pots, pans, dinnerware, etc. Laundry detergent for the steam washer and dryer is included. Sheets, towels, and hand and dish soap are also provided. The Guest House has two attached decks, one at the entry to the Guest House and one off of the kitchen looking out on the backyard. Both decks offer a table for two to enjoy meals or a beverage outside. A sun sail provides extra shade for the front patio during the summer. The backyard also has an additional table and sitting areas as well as a large umbrella to provide additional shade. The Guest House is approximately 650 sq.ft., but feels much larger as it is well designed. The Guest House is 100% private. The decks attached to the Guest House are for the exclusive use by our guests. The backyard is shared with our house, but we use it infrequently. As we live in the main house, we are available to answer questions or address any issues that may arise during your stay. Our Guest House is located within walking-distance (approximately one mile) from (i) coffee houses (Pachamama Coffee, Chocolate Fish Coffee Roasters, Tupelo Coffee & Roasting, Coffee Works, and Starbucks), (ii) restaurants (Selland's Market Cafe, Cafe Rolle, Formolio's Bistro, Juno's Kitchen & Delicatessen, Cielito Lindo Mexican Gastronomy, La Trattoria Bohemia, China Cafe, Midtown Taqueria, Orphan, Celestin’s Restaurant (coming soon), Hana Tsubaki Restaurant, Thai Palace, OneSpeed Pizza, Pasty Shack, Café Capricho, 33rd Street Bistro, OBO’ Italian Table & Bar, Kru Sushi, Canon East Sacramento, Star Ginger, etc.), (iii) bars (Bonn Lair, Hilltop Tavern, Clubhouse 56, and Chargin's Bar & Grill), (iv) great parks (McKinley Park, Bertha Henschel Park, and East Portal Park), and (v) a family grocery store with a wine and beer bar and café. Many of Sacramento's best breweries are also located near our Guest House including Porchlight Brewing Company (~1 mile), Track 7 Restaurant and Brewery (~1 mile – coming soon), Hoppy Brewing Company (~2 miles), Oak Park Brewing Company (~2 miles), Sactown Union Brewery (~2 miles), Fieldwork Brewing Company (~2 miles), Big Stump Brewing Company (~2 miles), New Helvetia Brewing Company (~3 miles), Track 7 Brewing Company (original location) (~4 miles), Device Brewing Company (~4 miles), New Glory Craft Brewery (~4 miles), Bike Dog Broadway Taproom (~4 miles), and Fountainhead Brewing Company (~5 miles). If you prefer wine, there are also a number of great wineries in Sacramento including three urban wineries near our Guest House: Cabana Winery & Bistro (~1 mile), Revolution Wines (~2 miles), and Twisted Twig Winery-Tasting Room (~2 miles). In addition, we highly recommend a day trip to Clarksburg (~14 miles) to visit its numerous wineries including Bogle Vineyards, Elevation Ten, River Grove Winery, Julietta Winery, and the Old Sugar Mill (oldsugarmill_com) (an historic sugar mill that has been converted into tasting rooms for approximately 15 local wineries). Everything that Midtown and Downtown Sacramento have to offer is located no more than 4 miles from our Guest House including the Sacramento Convention Center (~2 miles), the California State Capitol (~3 miles), the R Street Corridor (~3 miles), Old Town Sacramento (~4 miles), the Sacramento Kings Golden 1 Center (~4 miles), California Best Year-Round Weekly Farmers Market (~4 miles), and hundreds of restaurants, bars, theaters, museums, and cultural events. Our Guest House is also just a few blocks from Mercy Hospital and less than 2 miles from the UC Davis Medical Center and Sutter General Hospital. Finally, Sacramento State University is less than 2 miles from our Guest House. In short, whether you are coming to Sacramento for work or pleasure, there is no better place to stay! If you have a car, you won't need to drive far due to our convenient location. If you don't have a car, Mercy Hospital (~3 blocks from the Guest House) provides a free shuttle for the community that travels to the two closest light rail stations. There are also a couple bus lines that run a few blocks from our house. Finally, if you love biking, an entrance to the American River Parkway bicycle trail (an approximately 32-mile long paved trail that connects Old Sacramento to Folsom Lake) is located less than 2 miles from our Guest House. Thus, whether you travel by car, transit, foot, or bicycle, getting around is easy when you stay at our Guest House.
