Casa Ruiva is my retreat in Portugal’s West Coast: a former 13th-century inn, now a house with swimming pool, garden and vineyard views. Between Óbidos, Nazaré and Peniche, it combines comfort, authenticity and tranquillity for unforgettable holidays. The space Casa Ruiva is my weekend, holiday and retreat home whenever I need to escape from Lisbon. I live about 45 minutes away, I am passionate about travel and architecture, and the result is this house — full of soul, personality and history. Here you will find a traditional village house, decorated in an original Mediterranean style, using natural and local materials. We love beautiful, welcoming homes with character, and Casa Ruiva is exactly that — a lived-in, authentic house, proud of its rustic origins. The property is composed of the main house, a separate atelier, and a beautiful garden with swimming pool — all entirely private and exclusive to our guests, regardless of the number of people in the reservation. THE HOUSE In the main house, you will find: A fully equipped kitchen Dining room Living room Full bathroom with shower A small bedroom with two single beds (one of them a bunk bed with 1.70 m length, ideal for children or teenagers) The master bedroom, located on the first floor, with a double bed and a beautiful view over the vineyards and the centuries-old chapel of our neighbours’ estate The atelier, full of character, offers a very cosy en-suite bedroom, with a double bed and a small private bathroom. The house is equipped with air conditioning (hot and cold), ensuring comfort throughout the year. 👉 Casa Ruiva is ideal for up to 4 adults and 1 child (or 2 children). THE GARDEN The garden is one of Casa Ruiva’s true highlights. With approximately 300 m² of lawn, fruit trees and peaceful corners, it also includes: A sunny 80 m² outdoor deck, sheltered from the wind Swimming pool with a modern filtration system Outdoor dining table with seating for 6 Sun umbrella and lounge chairs for relaxing The scent of fruit and flowers is ever-present — pear, peach, apple, lemon and loquat trees, as well as tall bamboo reaching over 7 metres, create a unique atmosphere of tranquillity and privacy. THE EXPERIENCE At Casa Ruiva, my wish is that you enjoy memorable holidays, in a home that is different from most places you find on accommodation platforms — a house with identity, calm and character. Guest access Guests have full and exclusive access to the main house and the garden. The atelier/annex is available only for reservations of 4 guests or more. In all cases, the property is always for exclusive use, with no sharing with third parties. Other things to note We can offer self check-in if guests prefer or if the arrival time is late. For stays longer than a week, there will be a mid-stay cleaning. Beds will be prepared and towels will be provided according to the number of guests in the reservation. Registration Details 60462/AL
