Description
Iconic 1970's PNW home on Alderbrook Creek with Skyroom views of the Hood Canal and Olympic Mountains. Surround yourself in nature with two levels of wrap-around decks, or walk amongst the treetops on the Skyroom balcony. This one-of-a-kind home sleeps 11, with three bedrooms and 3.5 baths. Perfect for a group retreat, family getaway, or reunion! ** Please read all listing descriptions & photo captions before booking instantly, to make sure the space suits your needs. ** The space Renovated with modern comforts and decor, this iconic house retains many of the original 1970s fixtures and designs that have been preserved to keep this home as unique as when it was built! At over 2,400 square feet, the Skyhouse features several options for gathering indoors or out. All sleeping spaces have doors, and no bedrooms share walls, allowing for privacy even for large groups. The primary bedroom has a king bed and full sized sofa bed. There are two sleeping spaces on the lower level: a pull out sofa & cot in the "rec room" (which has a door for privacy); and a cozy bedroom with a king bed. There is also a guest suite with a queen bed, private entrance, 3/4 bathroom, and wet bar. The guest suite, master bedroom/bathroom, kitchen, and dining room are all on the main level (for guests who avoid stairs). The climb to the top of the tower is about 98 steps, depending on where you start your climb. At the top, the Skyroom features 8 foot sliders with views to the north, east, and west. Enjoy views from the Skyroom's wrap-around balcony. There is a half bath just below the Skyroom, so you can enjoy the views as long as you'd like! Guest access Guests have access to the entire house. We keep the utility room, and a small storage room locked, but everything else is available for guest use! Before using the spa facilities guests are required to sign a waiver. Feel free to use our washer & dryer, lounge on our outdoor furniture, spy on the bird nests using our binoculars in the Skyroom, get out the games & puzzles to spend some time unplugging, and whip up delicious meals with our fully stocked kitchen! Park up to two cars in the garage, and two or three more in the driveway. Other things to note FOOD We do not stock the fridge, although we try to provide condiments, spices, and cooking oils for guest use. We do our best to keep a well-stocked coffee & tea station. There are a couple small markets in town (a convenience store and a locally-made goods shop), but for a full grocery selection, you’ll need to travel to Hoodsport or Shelton, each about 20 minutes away. If you’d like the kitchen stocked with food when you get there, check out our Skyhouse Guidebook for information on local services that can assist you with that! PETS We do accept pets on a case-by-case basis. We require that pets are not left unattended at the Skyhouse, and that all pets are completely housebroken. We do not charge up-front pet fees as long as you agree to a zero-evidence policy, which means if no evidence of your pet is left behind, you will not incur any additional cleaning charges. If you have questions about our pet policies, please ask BEFORE booking your stay. CLEANING We do not have a lengthy check-out to do list, but we do expect guests to clean up after themselves. If our cleaning company charges us for extra necessary cleaning, those charges will be passed onto the guest via the resolutions center. ADDITIONAL GUESTS We accept additional guests on a case-by-case basis. Please send us info in a message BEFORE booking your stay to request additional guests. Based on your situation, we may charge additional fees.
