Gîte Poirier - pool, games room & summer house

Gîte Poirier - the largest of our 2 gites - is a 240 year old beautifully restored cottage. It comfortably sleeps 8 in 3 spacious bedrooms - large bedroom with 4 singles en suite upstairs and 2 double bedrooms and bathroom on ground floor. Can be booked with our smaller gite to sleep 13 in total. Awarded 4* rating by Charente Maritime Tourist Board. All bed linen and towels are provided. Welcome basket on arrival and pool towels are available. The space There is a large well-equipped kitchen/dining room (which opens to private garden) and a spacious lounge for relaxing with 3 large sofas. The lounge has an Amazon Firestick for TV, DVD and Bose bluetooth sound system. Kitchen - oven and hob, dishwasher, washing machine, fridge/freezer and large fridge, microwave, kettle, Tassimo capsule machine and coffee filter, toaster and ironing facilities. Also includes ample crockery, cutlery and glasses etc. There is a large dining table that comfortably sits 8 people. There are 2 large double bedrooms on the ground floor - one has double bed and a single bed which makes an ideal family room, the other has a super king bed. There is a large shower room/wc and separate wc on ground floor (ideal for those who find stairs a problem) and a further en-suite shower room on first floor with large bedroom with its exposed beams and 4 single beds, 2 of which can be made into a double. The cottage also benefits from thick stone walls to keep it cool in the heat of Summer but has central heating and 2 wood burning stoves for out of season bookings or those colder evenings. During the summer - rental is for a minimum of 1 week period from Saturday to Saturday, with arrival from 4pm and departure by 10am. There are also DVDs, books, toys and games provided. For families with babies, we can offer highchairs, a stroller, stairgates, cots, fireguard, changing mat and baby monitor. This beautiful property is set amongst the famous vineyards and sunflowers of the Cognac region. It has been lovingly restored to provide comfortable accommodation whilst still retaining many of the original charming features. The house has a private garden area and guests can relax around the enclosed roman ended swimming pool (10m x 5m), play in the well equipped games barn - which includes pool table, table tennis, table football, darts, badminton and tennis rackets, bikes (child seats and headgear available) or sunbathe amongst the palm trees in the sunny mature gardens, which includes - Summer House with tables and chairs, basketball and football nets, a swing and hammock - lots of space to play tennis/badminton. Chill out, sunbathe, relax, sit in the surrounding tranquil woodland by the slow running stream that runs at the bottom of the garden listening to bird song and watching out for deer. This holiday will feel like a home from home, - ideal place to recharge your batteries in an oasis of calm, with beautiful weather, a wonderful Summer house, swimming pool, games room and playhouse which will keep your children occupied.
