Description

Enjoy a stay at this stylish one-bedroom flat in Penrith town centre. Penrith's location at the north-eastern edge of the Lake District National Park, provides a perfect base for the keen cyclist, walker, photographer and wildlife enthusiast. The flat is perfect for exploring the historic market town and its many pubs, bars, restaurants, cafés and shops. At just three minutes walk from the train station it's directly accessible by public transport from London, Birmingham, Glasgow and Edinburgh. The space The flat is located on the first and second floors of a 250-year-old building above a quiet office on a main street close to the centre of the historic market town of Penrith. The flat is self-contained, and you will have sole use throughout your stay. Important Note - There is no parking outside the apartment, however there are several car parks close by. Morrisons car park can be pre booked online and is charged at £2 per day. Bluebell Lane Car Park is also bookable on line. There is some limited, free on - street parking around the corner on Ullswater Rd. On the first floor there is an open-plan, lounge/kitchen diner equipped with two sofas and a small dining table with two chairs, and a kitchen with oven, electric hob and fridge-freezer. This room has a colour pallete of off-white, greys and blacks, and a clean and modern but cosy feel. The table provides a perfect spot for enjoying your breakfast and morning coffee, especially with the sunlight streaming through the window on a sunny day and, if need be, can be used as an extra work space. There is also a small WC room with toilet and sink on the same floor as the lounge. On the second floor there is a stylish modern bedroom with a boutique feel, and an en-suite bathroom with toilet and shower. The bedroom has a colour pallete of deep green, grey and white, and is light and airy due to its two velux windows. It has a desk, which can be used either as a workspace or as a dressing table for getting ready for your days and nights out, along with two cosy chairs and a footstool which are perfect for just relaxing and reading. The flat has good Wi-Fi connectivity throughout. Please note that the television, which is located in the lounge, is a 'Smart TV' only, with providers such as Netflix, BBC I-player, Amazon Prime Video, etc., rather than a terrestrial TV. As such, the TV does not receive regular terrestrial stations as standard, and you will subsequently need your own accounts to sign in to any applicable providers in order to watch TV. Please note that, as the flat is on the first and second floors of the building and is subsequently accessed via a set of stairs to the lounge and a second set of stairs to the bedroom, it is therefore not accessible to wheelchair users or persons that would normally have difficulties in such situations. If you have any doubts regarding access in this respect then please make sure to ask us for more information prior to making a booking. Guest access Guests have access to the whole of the flat. Access is via two key locked doors, with the main (front) door at street level and the flat door at the base of a foot of stairs, also at ground level. The keys are stored in the lock box outside the front door. The main (front) door from the street forms a shared entrance to an office located on the ground floor. The office is normally occupied during working hours on a Monday to Friday, but can, on occasion, be under usage outside these hours. Please note that the pavement outside the main front door is very narrow and the traffic on the busy street can sometimes exceed the speed limit, so it's essential to be careful in this respect when leaving the premises. Unfortunately, the apartment is not suitable for disabled people due to the layout over the buildings second and third floors and, in turn, the emergency fire evacuation procedure. More specific details regarding access will be provided pre-check in. Other things to note Cyclists: There is storage for up to two bikes available in the office, but we will need advance notice of this requirement. As such, please make us aware of any such requirements either prior to or at the time of booking in order that we can accommodate your needs. Pictures: All of the pictures hanging in the flat are photos that were taken by myself. Some of them are of Penrith itself, some are of the Lake District, and some are of other UK and worldwide locations. If you want to know anything about any of the pictures, then please just ask. Please also ask if you're at all interested in purchasing a print of any of the pictures, and I'll get you a price. Local knowledge: The staff that work in the office below the flat live locally and are keen walkers (yes, they're both 'bagging' Wainwrights too), so if they're in when you're about and you have a question then feel free to knock on the door and ask them. External noise: The flat is located on a busy main street across from a pub and, as such, you may experience noise from traffic throughout the day and into the evening. Personal taste: Yes, you saw it right - there is a black ceiling in the lounge! I guess you'll either love it or hate it, but we hope it's not the latter.
