Webster Springs is nestled in the mountains of central West Virginia, a peaceful and picturesque oasis. This Veteran built and Veteran owned brick cap cod-style home sits directly on the Elk River. Enjoy the sounds of running water as you sleep in one of the two queen bedrooms this house offers. Sip your coffee while sitting on either of the two very large porches. Enjoy cooking? Then you'll be very happy in the modern, spacious kitchen complete with all the necessities. Although there is no dedicated dining room, you'll find plenty of space at the kitchen island or enjoy your meal on the porch with a river view. While you are renting the entire house/property, guests will have private access to the yard and first floor of the house only. The second floor and outbuildings remain locked and off-limits. There is a closed, locked door at the top of the living room stairs, this space is off-limits to guests. There is also a small closet in the bathroom that remains locked as this is a utility closet for our house cleaner. We are available via text or phone between 7 am and 10 pm to assist with any questions you may have. Unless an emergency, calls between 10 pm and 7 am will be answered after 7 am the following day. Addison, commonly known as Webster Springs. This town was famous in the late 19th and early 20th centuries for its numerous salt sulfur water wells. People believed that the water from the wells had medicinal qualities. The property is the site of 1 of 4 salt springs in town, The Tracy Well as noted on Wikipedia belonging to my Great-great grandfather W.B. Tracy. Webster Springs sits at the confluence of the Elk and Back Fork of the Elk Rivers. Located just 50 minutes from Snowshoe ski resort, Summersville lake, and the Cherry Hills country club in Richwood. Our town has numerous shops, retail stores, grocery stores, pharmacies, a motel, and several restaurants, all within walking distance. Take a stroll over 1 of the 2 famous swinging bridges or hike along Lover's Lane Boardwalk. Our property provides access to the Elk River, famous for its fly fishing. Government offices for the municipality, county, and state are available in the town. The town is served by the Addison Public Library and fire service is provided by the Webster Springs Volunteer Fire Department. Webster Springs is a walkable town. Basic needs are reached on foot. You'll find the local grocery directly across the street while the vegetable stand and butcher are just a short walk into town. This lovely home is located in the heart of Webster Springs directly on the Elk river. The entrance and front of the house is adjacent to an empty lot. This is a dead-end street and we are the only house located there.
