!!We are actively transforming the kids room and the Africa inspired room!! Make yourself at home among our treasures. Each room has its own theme to make your stay a truly unique experience. It is a collaboration of our past, present and future plans, as well as things we adore, places we've been, and ancestor's artwork. The bedrooms are inspired by our studies of history and interests this year; Mahatma Gandhi, Egypt and sushi 😆 Check with us about how to host an event here! The space The first thing you notice when you walk in the house is the art gallery wall in the living room. One of the oldest pieces is over 60 years old of my father as a baby, painted by my great grandfather. This is a treasure and when my late grandmother gave it to me, the gallery wall inspiration followed. And just like that, it grew with old and new. Soon my husband’s first father’s day gift, a charcoal piece by Andy Espinoza was made. We continued with my grandmother’s landscapes, my daughters' artworks, my late great aunt’s embroidery, my husband’s paint by numbers of a photo we took in Venice (he needs all the help he can get with art – his words), my sister’s painting of a young woman from when she was in high school, my nephew's geometric piece, sister in law and father in law's paintings as well as a couple of mine! We've packed it in and we love it. New additions: We added two guest's pieces! One is a sketch of a whale by a teenager and the other is of the front of our house by another guest! For me, this wall starts the understanding of who we are, where we came from and where we are going. Trying to raise two girls to have a better grasp of the world around them, more understanding of who people are and why we have the problems we do, begins with the past and nurtured with continual understanding.. Our home is subject to our journey. This is where we began and we come back to. It’s a collection of things we love and adore, people and places we’ve studied. While you enjoy our home, we will be continuing to discover what else is out there. As an interior decorator and party planner, I’ve had to reel it in a few times in order to get our place posted. We plan to continue to change and develop the house in time. I want our home to be perfect for our guests and exude all the stories I want it to tell, but it’s not perfect. Built in 1979, side-to-side split; we have updated one shower so far with the other on the list for updates, a sand and stain on the hardwood floors would be wonderful and new cabinetry in the kitchen are hopefully around the corner. While these things are on our agenda, we are excited to share our home with others that can see the value and effort we’ve put into it for you. Please note thoroughly, stairs. There are stairs to enter the front door. This opens into the living room, kitchen and dining room. There are 7 more stairs to go up to the hall bathroom and three bedrooms with another 7 stairs up to the last bedroom. From the kitchen there is a full set of stairs down to the TV room with another 7 stairs down to the laundry room. (I have posted additional pictures of stairs.) We hope you find our place perfect for your group and can't wait to host you! Last thing to note: We have begun allowing gatherings, please message me what you are hoping to do and we can see how we can accommodate! There will be additional fees for this of course and planning on our part ahead of time to make sure everything runs smoothly for you and your party. Otherwise no guests above what is documented in your reservation. Guest access Guests have access to the entire property except the garage. Other things to note Details to cleanliness matter to us! We have an AirDoctor for truly the best quality air! There is a Ring Doorbell attached to the front door. We have an outdoor Ring camera overlooking the backyard for our and our guest's safety. We use primarily cotton bedding to be comfortable and breathable no matter which season you're staying with us. Every bedroom has cotton quilts in the closet if you need heavier bedding. The pillows are a mixture of bamboo, down, cotton and polyfill; the queen and king beds each have four pillows so no matter where you are you can choose and sleep comfortably! We wash all the bedding from the protectors to the duvet cover and everything between. Every. Single. Time. Additionally, we have the mattresses and box springs protected with fully encompassed protectors to keep any additional yuck that may make it's way into the house.
