SoMD Waffle House 1.5 acres of cozy coastal living

Welcome to our Southern MD beach house. This 3 bedroom and 2 bath home is situated on nearly 1.5 acres of property where you can breathe deep and take in the bay breeze. Whether it is visiting one of the Chesapeake Bay beaches only a 3 minute drive from the home, or watching for wildlife in our yard (it is common to see deer, rabbits, birds, etc), life in Calvert County will slow you down and help you take a much needed break from the daily grind. And you don't even have to cross the Bay Bridge! The space Lovingly renovated, this single level 1,920 square foot home will delight you at every turn. Rooms w/vaulted ceilings, a fun kids' loft space, nautical + airy design. Perfect for romantic getaways, small group retreats, or family trips. So, why "waffle house"? You'll receive a welcome basket upon arrival which includes goodies like Old Bay chips, bottled water, and you guessed it....waffle mix! We have a Belgian waffle maker for your use during your stay located next to the refrigerator. Ready for activities? Other than hunting for fossils and sharks' teeth at our beaches, we have many amenities at the house including a volleyball/badminton net, tree swing, hammocks, horseshoes, fire pit, basketball hoop, outdoor and indoor toys, books + board games, an air hockey and mini pool table, and much more. Beach gear (toys, umbrella, sifters, and more) and child sized fishing poles are available for you to borrow on your outings. A rinse off station with hose shower and foot wash nozzle are located near the front door to clean off and cool down after a day at the sandy beaches. Our community boasts 2 private sandy beaches for swimming and beach fun, Lake Lariat for fishing & boating, hiking trails, playgrounds, and campgrounds. Home Amenities: Keurig coffee maker TVs in living room and each bedroom DVD players in bedrooms, DVD library Roku in living room Wireless Internet Fully stocked kitchen Deck with table & chairs Family Games & Art supplies Inside and outside toys Air hockey and mini pool table Closets Clean linens and towels Washer and Dryer Baby/Toddler items (Pack N Play, booster seat, baby bath, etc) A limited supply of paper goods (toilet paper, paper towels, etc.) is provided to get you started. Guests are responsible for any additional supplies needed during their stay. *EV Charging Available* We now offer an EV charging cord (Level 1 EV Charger, 15A 110V) for guest use! If you’d like to charge your electric vehicle during your stay, just let us know in advance. -$20 flat fee per stay (access code available through your host) -$100 fee applies if the cord is lost, damaged, or not returned properly. It’s a convenient way to stay powered up while you're here! Owners will be available by text and through AirBnb messenger. There is an electronic keypad on the front door for convenient access. This is an older home with so much character, and also has adorable quirks! If you are looking for a pristine new hotel vibe for your vacation, our home may not be to your satisfaction. If you love AirBnbs that makes you feel right at home and is welcoming to all (young children and dogs included!), we can't wait to host you! Ample parking on our private driveway (can comfortably fit 4-6 cars) Guest access Guest will have access to the whole house and community. The detached garage and backyard shed are not included in the rental. Our backyard extends into the woods behind the house. Feel free to explore the backyard woods (there are mulched paths in a loop throughout). Our property is marked by orange ropes on the sides and a dry creek bed at the rear. **As always when you are hiking, be aware of your surroundings. There may be poison ivy, bugs, snakes, etc... you're out in the wilderness after all! Enjoy, but take care.** Other things to note **SUMMER STAYS** Full week rentals only (Check in and out on Saturdays very week). Mid June through Mid August. I am an experienced host and do my best to be accommodating to anything my guests need, but know that I and my house are imperfect and I do not have the resources of a large hotel chain. I am quite forgiving of small issues that come up, especially if you just let me know about them ahead of time. I hope that you'll care for my home as it represents a huge amount of time, investment, and energy for my family and I- we are very proud of it and are thrilled to share it with you!
