Welcome to "Pool House" - a midtown home with a beautiful screened pool. The pool is heated to extend the swim season (should be swimmable as long as the local temps are above 50). We’ve remodeled this 4 bd/2 ba home with both vacation and business travelers in mind. You’ll have the whole house to yourself: 500+ Mbps fiber internet, on demand hot water in the house (tankless unlimited hot water), fully stocked kitchen, washer/dryer, and lots of other touches to make everyone happy! Pool House is cozy and functional, and we’ve added many of the touches that we look for in a vacation stay. There’s a large dining table inside that seats 8, and an outdoor dining table that seats 6. We upgraded to a top of the line tankless water heater to supply the house with endless hot water - now the last shower is as hot as the first! We don't require an extensive check out chore list - we only ask that you don’t leave dirty dishes (you can just load and start the dishwasher) and that you put all trash in the trash can! It's your vacation and we want you to enjoy your time. Between stays, we wash all the sheets, duvet covers, blankets and towels in dye and fragrance free detergent. Before you arrive, we wipe all the high touch surfaces with disinfectant and steam mop the floors so they are sanitized. The cleaning fee also includes the pool being vacuumed before your stay, and we keep a close watch on the chemicals to keep them at optimal levels for swimmers. Around the pool you’ll find several seating areas to watch swimmers or have your morning cup of coffee. We’ve got pool games ready and an electric grill that’s easy to use (electric since it’s inside the screen). We also provide some great outdoor games: bean bag toss, pool basketball, and super-sized connect four. There are some tennis rackets and balls if you want to play on one of the local tennis courts. If you want to have an outdoor movie night or watch the big game outside, we have a screen and projector connected to wifi. You just take the projector outside and pull down the screen and you are ready to enjoy a nighttime, outdoor cinema. I love plants, so the backyard is loaded with some of my favorites – if the tomato/peppers/herbs are ready to pick, you are welcome to them. If you’re forced to put in some office hours during your trip, there’s also a separate office space with a huge whiteboard and spacious desk (fast fiber internet throughout the house) so you can focus and then quickly get back to relaxing. Each bedroom, the living room, and the office have smart tvs with Hulu, Disney+, and ESPN+ so everyone in your group can find something just for them. You can also sign in to your own prime video or Netflix or other subscription services on the tv apps. Local Channels are available for live tv using the antenna. If you want to watch other channels, Pluto tv has lots of variety. IMPORTANT TO NOTE: Guests have access to the entire house, private, screened pool and a large back porch to enjoy the outside. All the guests must be listed on the reservation and only those listed can be at the house, spend the night, or swim. All swimmers swim at their own risk and anyone under 18 must be supervised by an adult. Anyone who is not a registered guest requires prior permission from the owner. We don't allow parties at the house. If you would like to have a small gathering, it will require prior approval from the host (and may include a fee). Any violation of this rule will immediately forfeit the reservation. Please park on the driveway and carport which together can accommodate up to 6 cars. You will self check in with a lock code, but I am only 5 minutes away. I will be available for any questions or help you might need. Reaching me by text through the Airbnb app is the easiest. Midtown is Hattiesburg's central location, close to restaurants, shopping, and outdoor adventures. This is a very safe family neighborhood and quiet hours between 10 pm and 8 am are observed. Right across the street is a walking/running track with exercise stations and a playground for any little ones. Behind the track is a frisbee golf course. USM main campus, Forrest General hospital, and William Carey University are all a short drive away. Within 2 miles you'll find the Longleaf Trace, 44 miles of paved biking, mountain bike trails, and running trail. There are 3 local coffee shops nearby and several microbreweries downtown, The Porter, Colludium, and Southern Prohibition. Three different grocery stores are within a mile. This neighborhood is great for walking, both on the public access walking track just down the street and throughout the winding streets of the neighborhood itself. This neighborhood has a dedicated bike lane. A car is generally needed for this area, and we are quick day trips away from some fun excursions too! The pool heater works best if the temperatures don’t dip too low. It won’t heat the pool well when the nighttime temps are in the 30s and the day time temps don’t go above 50.
