Studio Apartment. Volcano view from terrace. The space Laughing Falcon...A studio apartment perfect for two. A quality space that is part of a duplex on a shared property. Queen bed, air conditioning, 2 burner induction stove, refrigerator/freezer, tiled carport, private terrace, views of Arenal Volcano & jungle from the terrace, walking trails, many activities near. ONLY Room for TWO. For a couple only. You will love it here...a great place at an excellent price in an area of rural Costa Rica that is authentic and unspoiled. Your water comes from a spring 2 miles in the jungle. It is pure and perhaps the best you have ever had. The air you breathe is generally blowing through over 150,000 acres of the CHILDREN'S ETERNAL RAIN FOREST with no cities, factories and no contamination. Beef here is grass fed, chickens free range. Many of the veggies are organic. The fruit is unbeatable. We are not kid-friendly, pets not allowed, smoking in the studio or on the terrace is not allowed. If you smoke on the terrace or in the house, your security deposit in full will NOT be refunded. Just a heads up. We want our next guests to come into Laughing Falcon with smiles on their faces, just as we want you to arrive. Please remember you are in a remote part of a third world country. While we have internet, it is at times spotty or even non-existent. If you desperately need the internet at a particular moment, you will ALWAYS find internet at the restaurants in El Castillo, about 10 minute drive down our. The Studio apartment is part of a duplex. The other half is occupied by a young family...Lilliam, Adan, their 12 year old daughter, Dianna., and baby (5 year old) Eliazer. They help us on a part time basis, cleaning and helping with our tropical garden. They are rural workers and are often up about 6:00. You might hear them. They return for lunch as a family, often talking about the day and during lunch are often a bit noisy. They are usually gone with friends in the evenings. But there will be some noise as there always is with neighbors. YOUR SPACE Our studio apartment, the trails and gardens, the terrace on your apartment, the parking space, our waterfall and the jungle trails that lead to it, the surrounding jungle, the volcano views, the peace and quiet, the fresh air, the relaxation...All are yours to enjoy GUEST INTERACTION We can help with reservations for things to do and places to see. We will help in any way we can, but only when you want help or information. You can get a hold of us by Whats App or drive down to the Welcome Center. THE NEIGHBORHOOD You will be able to do most anything this part of Costa Rica is famous for, within a 30 to 40 minute drive. Zip lines are the best anywhere. Hanging Bridges are amazing. Butterfly Conservancy, one of the only ones in the world that actually raises all of its butterflies. Hot Springs are the best in Costa Rica, and all within easy driving distance from here. Horse-back riding nearby with an assortment of trips available. A local Art Gallery and fresh herb shop, right here. Your choice. You can walk to our private waterfall right from the house and be one of a very limited number of people in the world who have visited that particular spot. The rivers that split into a "V" by the waterfall are the rivers that lull you to sleep from the apartment. And from the terrace you will see the Turkey Vultures and hawks fly so close you can see the reflections off their eyes. You will almost certainly hear the Toucans, the Laughing Falcons as you sit outside on the terrace. Between 8 and 10 most mornings, the White Hawks screech and fly from their home high in the rain forest and often sit and hunt nearby. Spider Monkeys and Howler Monkeys are heard most days and often seen in the trees that fringe the jungle behind the house. There is so much to do you could spend a week and only dent the surface. We are in an area where only a few speak English, but somehow everyone gets by. We will tell you about great lunch and dinner places and a nearby place to buy groceries so you can cook your own meals. In El Castillo about 10 minutes away, you will find a small grocery store, several restaurants, a church, a snake zoo, a butterfly conservancy, an art gallery/bakery and views as you drive up the mountain you can only imagine, but will remember for many years. Bird watching and bird photography is amazing. John is a photographer and has photographed hundreds right on our property. Hummingbirds are abundant and if you rise early in the morning you will be blessed with a wide variety of shapes, colors and sizes. the only challenge will be to choose between them and the sunrise on the volcano. GETTING AROUND You will want a 4WD vehicle. The roads to our home are gravel and rock. When it rains there are potholes. You will be a lot happier with a small 4WD here and in most areas of Costa Rica. While there is a lot to see within walking distance of the house, there are many activities that require a 10 to 45 minute drive. You will not be happy waiting for a cab to arrive either coming of going. OTHER THINGS From your rental you will be able to access our Tropical garden with banana trees, coffee, pineapples, mangoes, avocados and many flowering shrubs and jungle plants. There is a small covered garden with wild Orchids that have been removed from trees in the jungle that have been blown down in storms. There is our private jungle trail to Walden falls, where guests see monkeys about 60% of the time on an early morning walk. Pura Vida Guest access Our studio apartment, the trails, and gardens, the terrace on your apartment, the parking space next to the studio, the jungle, the volcano views, the peace and quiet, the fresh air, the relaxation
