Sweetwater Guesthouse, Coastal Village Cabin

Beautiful wooden bungalow with a stone fireplace, complementary to the exquisite nature it is located at. The bungalow is very well equipped with an outdoor barbeque, a full kitchen, and bathroom, and patio furniture. It is in five min walking distance to the sandy beach. It has the sea on one side and the luscious green mountains on the other. Akanthou is a popular location for backpackers, bikers and nature lovers. We try our best to grow organic vegetables in the garden for you. The space Our place is unique in architecture as it contains British colonial era accents like the yellow stone fireplace, and it is unlike many other Cypriot buildings, made out of wood. The location makes it even more special as it is closely located to a virgin beach that has not been commercialized and is in its natural state, with beautiful rock formations. There is an archeological site named Çiftlikdüzü in Akanthou, which proved the area to be the oldest inhabited location in Cyprus dating back to 8400BC (Neolithic age). Even in our garden we frequently come across with remainings from shipwrecks like old ceramic pieces. The location was later inhabited by Pergamon colonials who were tormented by the pirates often enough that they moved the Akanthou village to its current location which is invisible from the sea. You can also visit a thousand-year-old church which includes an open-air museum named Cyprus Minia. Amenities and Activities; • Nearby Korineum Golf Course offers an 18-hole championship golf course with driving range and teeing greens, pro shop, and dining. There is also tennis and country club restaurant. • Rock climbing, canoeing and camping activities by ‘Step Out Cyprus’, • Hiking, and biking trails. You can take walks around the woods, and hike to the mountains, just make sure to follow the trails to find your way back easily. • Historical site-seeings; Çiftlikdüzü Archeological Site, Molulos Antique City, Panaghia Pergaminiotisa Church, Ottoman Fountain, Historic Flourmill, Minia-Cyprus Open air museum and Carob Store • Traditional Cuisine can be enjoyed at Çiftlikdüzü Restaurant, Sea Breeze Restaurant, and my favourite Eagles Nest that has breathtaking sea views. • Beach Lounging • Wild plant and bird safari. Guest access We have lots of space for parking. There are 360 gardens around the house. Three bedrooms, full bathroom, full kitchen, a living room, and dining areas (indoors and outdoors). Within the confines of the property, there is a storage shed where we store our garden tools, as well as a small cabin that we occasionally use personally. Both our personal cabin and the guesthouse share the same entrance gate, but there is a 50-meter distance between them and they have separate driveways. This ensures that the Sweetwater guest house, its terrace, and the surrounding garden still maintain privacy. LOCATION: To locate us accurately look for a yellow stone building (Jazzmine Lounge restaurant) with multiple arches on the main road. We are the wooden bungalow opposite to it. Cabin number 16, Selcuklu Sokak (street). We are located on the MAIN ROAD which makes it easier to access but is hard to recognize due to the large garden surrounding the bungalow! The pin on the map is accurate, I recommend using online-maps to find us easily. Our entrance is on the corner where the Main Road meets the junction going down to the Old Coast Road. CAR RENTAL: Please see the contact details provided in the manual and directions section. Other things to note Deposit and Electricity usage: 1- 28kW per day of electricity usage is included in the price. The extra is billable. 2- Firewood for the fireplace can be provided if requested at the time of reservation (charged per bag plus delivery fee 20€). Fireplace should be left cleaned at check-out. We hold the right to request additional cleaning fees otherwise. 3- We can provide a welcome package or a basket, with products of your choice and needs. Please inform us of your needs at the time of booking (charged extra + delivery fee 20€) 4- If you need to use the highchair, crib and baby bath, please inform us when booking so we can leave it in the cabin for your stay (normally we keep it in storage) Cooling: We have AC units in all 3 of the bedrooms and the rest of the house has ceiling fans. Heating: portable gas burning heater. Fireplace in living room. Ac units in all 3 of the bedrooms. The livingroom does not have AC units. Important notes: - Our cabin is a garden house, you may encounter bugs. There is 360 garden around the house which you can enjoy as you wish. Due to the gardens sometimes bugs can be seen, we have nets on windows and bug repellant in every room to avoid it as much as possible however occasionally guests can come across with one. - You will probably need a car. If you are coming from Larnaca or Paphos airport please make sure to hire a car that you can use in both South and North part of the island. Pacific is a company that provides such service. - Our cabin is close to the main road of Tatlisu, some guests expressed noise coming from the road.
