The space Built in 1968, this mid-century modern mountain lake home is happily offered for you to enjoy. The original mid-century modern kitchen cabinets bring charm to the space, and the large living room is perfect for game nights, movie nights, or simply relaxing after a day at the Mountain Lake Club’s sandy beach. The spacious primary bedroom features a comfy queen platform bed with soft linens for a warm,, restful atmosphere. You can watch a movie on your private TV and wake up to the sounds of chirping birds. The second bedroom offers a queen-size bed and vintage decorative touches, including a faux fireplace, built-in shelving/cabinet for a comfortable and charming stay. The third bedroom or second primary suite is a bright and flexible space with an en-suite full bathroom. It can be used for game nights, relaxation, kids' area or as the primary suite. The unique European-style queen size sofa couch is ideal for a third couple or a girls' or guys’ weekend stay that can quickly be turned back into a couch. Additionally, there's room for another guest of any age in the fun loft area with hypoallergenic wool, 16" thick organic mattress. The large leather couch and extra-large coffee table welcome you to the expansive living room, offering a lovely view of the fenced-in backyard. Open the sliding glass doors to the large second-level deck to expand the space even more. Outside, enjoy a nighttime fire and make s'mores for dessert and cook your dinner on the propane grill. End your night by stargazing from the hot tub. There are lots of simple outdoor games such as darts, and even kid-friendly ax throwing. The kitchen is fully stocked with cooking essentials and typical spices. There is a beautiful solid wood dining table with sleek mid-century modern lighting to gather for a home-cooked meal or takeout. A delightful bonus area is the coffee lounge, where you can prepare your morning coffee or a warm cup of tea and plan your day in a comfortable bonus area of the house. Guest access You have access to the entire Mountain Lake Retreat, front yard, and private fenced in backyard. Less than a 5 minute walk away, Shannondale Lake is yours to enjoy every season. There is a fee for lake use during the summer months that we cover for you! The restaurant is open year round with lunch and dinner served and Sunday brunch when scheduled. Be sure to check their website directly for year round events and weekly happenings such as karaoke! Boats, kayaks, canoes, and paddle boards are available for rental at the Club too. Other things to note The Mountain Lake Retreat is less than a 5 minute walk from the Mountain Lake Club restaurant, bar, lake, and beach. Shannondale Lake is an 80 acre lake resting in the amazing crevices of the Harpers Ferry, West Virginia mountains. From kayak, canoe, pontoon boat, and paddle board rentals there is something fun to do on the lake for everyone during your visit. The beach and swimming area are an enjoyable and refreshing place to spend your time in summer. Open year round, the restaurant and bar boost a pretty killer karaoke night and a multitude of music entertainment and special events each week and especially around the holidays. We have taken care of your entrance cost to the lake and beach area in summer. This said, following the rules and daily use policies of the club is a must.
