Sugar House ADK Base Camp is just 9 min to White Face, 23 min to Lake Placid Village, and across the road from the beautiful Au Sable River. Fuel up at the coffee bar and head out for a day of leaf peeping, biking, hiking or climbing. Then come home to relax in the hot tub or by the fire. This contemporary farmhouse has a fully-equipped kitchen, outside hot tub and a large game room with ping pong, billiards, poker table, smart tv. Come stay with us for ADK's spectacular fall foliage! The space The property is in the hamlet of Upper Jay adjacent to the Sugar House Creamery, a working pocket farm with Swiss brown cows. (You’ll see the cows move up and down Sugar House Way virtually every morning, except in the winter). The house is decorated in a modern farmhouse style and has an activities room including billiards, ping pong, poker table and television lounge. The yard has a hot tub, fire pit and detached sun porch for your enjoyment. Sound does tend to travel here, so consideration of voice and music levels is required. Guest access Guests will have access to the entire property except for the basement and a supplies closet. Please make yourselves at home. Other things to note Cellular phone service can be spotty at the house (especially AT&T), but if you can enable WiFi calling, you should fare well. Use your phone light to help with the digital lock if arriving after dark. All-wheel drive is highly recommended in the winter time. Air Conditioning: The Adirondacks are a special place in the summer as warm days give way to cool, crisp nights and mornings. Air conditioning is generally not required. We do have it on the second floor, but there’s none on the first floor. It is rarely necessary, but for the occasional warm night, we’ve got ceiling fans in all bedrooms as well as supplemental floor fans we can drag out. The fireplace in the living room is a sealed gas unit that provides awesome ambiance and heat without the hassle of hauling wood or warming the flu!
