Quiet 2 bedroom cottage. Nestled in the woods

Take a break and unwind at this peaceful oasis. Nestled on the edge of a certified tree farm. Massive old trees surround the cabin while you take in the amazing wooded scenery. The cottage has 2 bedrooms, 1 bath. Whetstone River meanders through the property. Lots of wildlife. No pets allowed. The space Free high speed business internet and wifi. Free TV. The cottage was built in the 1940’s. It has vaulted ceilings with large old wooden beams. Enjoy the classic antique wagon wheel ceiling lights while falling in love with the massive original fireplace and built-in bookshelves. The cabin was originally called the Indian Mound Lodge. It was part of a large family camp where they camped, cooked, and hunted. Walls were placed to make bedrooms many years later to make it a home. The bedroom walls do not go to the ceiling and can cause noise to travel in the home. The main bedroom does have closets. It has a large window and door to the outside. It holds a queen bed. The second bedroom has a trundle bed with 2 twin mattresses. It is a cozy room with 2 single pull-out beds in the closet area. The home does not have bedroom doors but curtains have been purchased to help provide some privacy. Large open-concept living, dining, and kitchen area. Large windows for great viewing. The living room has a couch, chair, and futon. Take in the amazing wooded views from your couch while looking out the sliding glass doors. Deers can be seen frequently in the front yard at dawn and dusk. We also have a family of foxes that live in our back barn about 100 yards from the cabin. We frequently get raccoons to visit in the evening and overnight. If you look to the right of the cabin, you will find a massive oak tree that is well over 200 years old. It is the largest oak tree on the property. The bathroom has a large sink, toilet, shower and standard door. The property also has the original (outdoor) outhouse behind the home if you feel extra adventurous! It's at least 50 years old! Use at your own risk!! :) We have well water but have a water softener treatment that is maintained by Peacock Water. The water is safe to drink. There is a water feature near the front of the home. Enjoy the tranquil sounds as you relax next to the fire pit. Please keep an eye on kids (it is 2.5 foot deep). Firewood is for sale at the end of the driveway. Our insurance does not allow for indoor fires. Please do not use the fireplace at this time. Outdoor seating and a fire pit are located to the left of the home. Enjoy some yummy s’mores or hotdogs on the fire while enjoying the evenings. The best part of the home is the large, three-season sunroom. It has vaulted ceilings with large old wood beams. Antique windows frame the large seating area. There is a ceiling fan to help during the warm summer months and plenty of seating for the whole family. Enjoy the rain dancing on the rooftop while taking in nature, or snuggling under a blanket during the winter months. This area has tons of wildlife and deer frequently enjoy apples from the trees in the front yard. We have a family of foxes living behind the home in a den by the barn. Keep an eye out at dusk for our furry friends. You can often see raccoons, wild turkeys, possums, deer, and tons of birds. NEW back porch completed in 2026 along with new outdoor furniture. Sit and enjoy all that the forest has to offer. I highly recommend sitting on the back deck first thing in the morning and listening to all the birds. It's amazing. Please, no pets. Due to guest who let their pets do damage to the property, we no longer accept any pets. Here is a small creek that meanders behind the cottage, and a larger river deeper in the woods. The river is called Whetstone River (and is the reason we call our Cabin Whetstone Woods). No smoking, vaping, tobacco products, or illegal drugs. There is a $500 fine if the cabin smells of these products. Limited parking. Please no extra large trucks, RVs, campers, wagons, trailers, etc. unless pre-approved. If you give us enough time we can accommodate your needs. We can park 3 cars or 2 large SUV's/Trucks. Since there are 2 cabins for rent we ask that you do not block the drive or park anyone in. Please no parties, events, or large groups without pre-approval. No pets. We are excited to have you and hope you have a great visit. We have a smart lock door entrance and you will get a code before your arrival. You will get instructions on the smart entrance. This allows contact-free check in's. To lock the door- hold the "#" for two seconds. Early check-in is possible- but not guaranteed. Early check-in is $50. Late checkout is allowed and is $50. Please let us know in advance so we can try to acclimate you. If we have a person requesting an early check-in the same day as a person asking for a late check out- the person who requested first will get the accommodation. Special request- have an idea, want, or special request? Give us a heads up and we can see what we can do for you! We are a family owned cottage/cabin. Not a big business, not a corporation. Just our family. We live on the farm too. Every penny goes back into our farm and the local community. Thank you for supporting our little piece of heaven. Guest access The whole house- there are 2 cabins located on the property. The Fire pit is to the left of the cottage. There is a shared parking lot. Please don't block the driveway. Private back porch and sunroom. Other things to note The home was built in the 40s and the bedroom walls don’t reach the ceiling. This may cause sound to carry. We have provided fans and white noise makers in both bedrooms. Also, there are no doors in the bedrooms -but curtains have been placed for privacy. Bathroom has a standard door. New Porch COMPLETED!!! Enjoy the amazing view. Please give feedback… we are learning and would like to make people happy. Please no smoking or vaping. No illegal drugs. No extra large vehicles, wagons, RVs, trailers, etc. Please don't leave kids unattended. It's not child proof. No Pets. We are not responsible for injury or accidents. There are 2 cabins located on the property. Please park to the right side of the shared parking area. Indoor and outdoor games provided. Firewood for sale near the end of the driveway. Organic honey and Maple syrup for sale (made on our farm)! Outdoor firepit. Please no fires in the cottage. Thank you!!!!
