Private, Cozy, and Remote Mountain Apartment in Walk-out Garden Level of Home
Meander over to the private, cozy and comfortable apartment in my mountain home's lower level. ALL people, who will treat my property with respect, are welcome. Remote location, quiet and tranquil. Beautiful patio and gas fire-pit. Well- stocked kitchen, spacious and comfortable living area. DIA is 75 min. and Nederland is 25. Come to bird, hike, bike, ski, fish, relax, hunt, gamble or just to enjoy life. This place is just what you need! I'll work for a 5-star experience in every way! The space As long as you respect my property, you are welcome here! The Meandering Moose Apartment is in the lower level of my home, which is at the end of a private dirt road (need AWD with snow tires or 4X4 during winter months) in the Colorado Rockies. We never know if we will have no snow or 4' of snow. The area is secluded and quiet, but close to many attractions. If you want to chat, I love meeting you, but will respect your privacy, if you prefer not to. If you have questions or concerns, let me know, otherwise I'll just leave you alone, although you may see me around the property taking care of the area. I do live full-time upstairs, so you may hear me a bit, but I do my best to keep the noise level to a minimum. Coffee, tea, basic spices, ketchup/mustard, paper and cleaning products, as well as shampoo, conditioner, body soap, games, toys and books are provided. The two bedrooms and living area are roomy, cozy, tasteful, and welcoming. Arapaho National Forest is just across the road, Golden Gate Canyon State Park is less than five miles away and casinos are also 5 miles away in the other direction. If you need something special, let me know in advance. Eldora Ski Area is approximately 20 minutes away. Loveland and Winter Park Ski Areas are about an hour away. My goal is to help you have an incredible 5-star stay! The apartment runs cool, so bring layers and winter jammies! Trust me on this! We are in The Rockies and it can be chilly - even in the summer. The wood stove will help keep the area toasty and I supply sufficient wood. Plenty of extra blankets are provided to snuggle-up in and there are three portable heaters, but please let's consider the environment and try extra clothing layers and blankets/throws before plugging in. I strive to be eco-friendly. Most linens are 100% cotton and/or bamboo, and are air-dried on racks. All soap products are cruelty-free and are in refillable containers. The toilet paper and paper towels are made from 100% recycled material. Rags are provided to reduce paper towel usage and I even provide cloth napkins! Reusable shopping bags are provided and to-go containers are available to use in the apartment or to take your leftovers home. All lighting is LED. These efforts cost more and require extra work on my part, but are worth the effort to reduce our carbon footprint. I'd love you to bring your canine fur baby! If you do, please do not leave it unattended without talking to me first. AWD or 4X4 required during winter months. Elevation is 9150' (2.78892 kilometers). Thank you for checking my listing!! Guest access There is a private entrance at the end of the brick path and patio. There is a cart on the front porch for you to use to load and unload. You will have access via a pin assigned electronic lock. Please provide me with the last four digits of your phone number, which will be your code to access the apartment. Other things to note You must have an all-wheel drive with good snow tires or 4-wheel drive during winter months - November - May and sometimes June. While there may be no snow at all, you'll want to be prepared. My home is approximately 1100 ft off of the Peak to Peak Highway (Scenic Byway). Before using the gas firepit, I need to show you how to turn it on and off. Please do not attempt to start the fire without me - just the first time. A main focus in my life is to live more responsibly and sustainably and I carry that focus to Meandering Moose. The heat is kept low so you'll want to bring some warm clothes and jammies - seriously! Blankets, portable heaters, and a wood stove are available, if needed. Even during the summer, when it is in the 90s in the "flats," it will be naturally cool in the apartment. Full disclosure - I have several security and wildlife cameras outside including a NEST doorbell which shows me cars and people walking around the front area of the house. I have no cameras inside the apartment. Feel free to bring your dogs! There is a $30 pet fee and I require an additional $10 per dog to a max of three. No cats, sorry. Regulations require that you pick up after your dogs. I do provide compostable poop bags and a separate trash container to place the bags in. PLEASE do so. Also - not kidding - don't leave your dogs unattended or loose outside. Level 2 EV charging available for $10/night. I love children and will care for your youngin's for $20/hour for one child and $10/hour for each additional child. I will also dog-sit for $10/hour. You must make arrangements in advance and I am not always available. Please do not leave your dog unattended without discussing it with me in advance.
