The space Enter the large glass doors to be embraced by the warmth of a timber-lined space with views across the channel to the Tasmanian mainland. The open-plan lounge, dining and fully-equipped kitchen are perfect for enjoying the inside-outside vibe, with a wood fire and a large sofa to keep you cozy. A wide variety of herbal tea and ZeroCo/Skipper products throughout the home add to the earth conscious feels. Watch the sun sink into the bay and fade into night from the lounge or the spacious bedroom from the comfort of a queen-sized bed. Off the lounge, you will find the perfect space to relax with a book or use the vintage desk to get some creative work done. The bathroom is large and comfortable, with a refreshing rain shower to enjoy after a leisurely dip in the ocean. Kindling is not provided, but there is a large woodpile and an axe for your use. Seagrass is positioned to ensure a feeling of privacy and isolation from the neighbours in this row of traditional Bruny shacks. The oceanside yard is unfenced and merges with next door. The lack of strict fencing lends to the charm of relaxed Island community life, but we ask you to respect the 'invisible fence line'. Other things to note Seagrass is within walking distance of Hotel Bruny, open 7 days a week for delicious lunches and dinners. Five minutes drive in the opposite direction you'll reach Bruny Island Winery for dinner or a glass of wine in the vines. On your way to Seagrass you can stock up on supplies from Bruny Island Cheese, Get Shucked Oyster Shack, the infamous Bread Fridge, and, in season, the black devil cherries shed. Even more fresh food and produce of Bruny Island are within easy reach with the Honey Pot, Fudge Factory and Berry Farm all within a 15 minute drive. World-renowned Penicott Wilderness Tours, the lighthouse and multiple walks are a little further but well worth visiting to enjoy the wild beauty of Bruny Island. Wildlife from birds to wallabies and, if you're lucky, the local quoll can all be enjoyed on nearby walks and even from the comfort of the deck. The house is perfect for singles wanting a creative space and couples on a romantic escape, a cot can be provided. Pets are welcome with the front yard is securely fenced for peace of mind. The property is in a group of traditional Bruny shacks with neighbours on both sides. Seagrass is designed to give privacy so although the neighbours are there, you'll feel alone. We all share private access to Sunset Bay. PLEASE NOTE: We do not provide pre-cut kindling. There is an axe and dry wood available. Be aware, there is no television in the house, but you can sometimes convince the local pub to put on a game. Please also note that there is WiFi but it can be at times unstable due to high winds.
