House of Secrets, Morlaix Brittany

This beautiful 17th century listed building boasts a four-poster bed, a grand central staircase and a suntrap rooftop garden and is uniquely decorated with quirky furniture and artwork. The house is set back from the road, in the centre of the historic town of Morlaix. Situated on a bustling square, you will be a stone's throw from shops, restaurants and tourist attractions. The house is just 20 minutes’ drive from picturesque beaches and mountains. The space Original stairs from the entrance hall to… First floor with large panelled sitting room overlooking the Place de Viarmes. There is a pellet stove here and a single bed in a small alcove-think Harry Potter but nicer. The fully equipped kitchen is at the back, with the original fireplace (non working), cooker, dishwasher etc. The kitchen leads to a small courtyard garden and WC. The lovely 17th staircase takes you up to the second floor where there is a large double bedroom with four poster bed and another alcoved single bed. There is a small bathroom with WC and a bath with shower attachment. There is a second double bedroom leading to a small balcony with a washing machine (odd, I know). Upstairs to the panelled single bedroom under the eaves and the large attic space with access across a fenced walkway and steps to the raised garden. There are beautiful views across the rooftops of Morlaix from here. The garden is fenced, but there is a steep drop and children and irresponsible adults will need supervising. Guest access You will have access to the whole house, which will be prepared for your number of guests. Other things to note Morlaix is an interesting, bustling market town. It has a wonderful viaduct, pretty port and lots of lovely restaurants. The surrounding countryside is varied and there is always plenty to do.
