Unwind at this stunning stone-built historic Mansion overlooking the Hydra harbor. The Mansion was built in 1842 by a rich family actively involved in the Independence War against the Ottomans. It was recently renovated and decorated by a prominent Greek artist. The Guest House comes fully equipped with modern amenities ensuring that you can enjoy a comfortable stay while accessing the mansions’ several independent gardens and terraces and marveling at its majestic views. The space The Mansion is located at the top of a hill on the west side of the port – which has traditionally been the high-end and most sought-after part of the island – enjoying beautiful sunrises and cool breezy afternoons. This unique Guest House is an independent part of the Mansion, comprised of 2 en-suite bedrooms with showers, an open-plan kitchen, and a dining/living space. One bedroom has a king-sized bed, while the other two single beds that can be joined making it the perfect place for a family of 4 or two couples. Each bedroom overlooks the harbor, so you’ll be waking up to breathtaking views of the harbor, the sea, and the mountains, while each bedroom has access to its own private terrace where you can enjoy your breakfast or a glass of wine. The living area has access to a gorgeous and unique courtyard concealed by a protective stone wall to wear off invading pirates. The guest house has all the amenities you will need for a pleasant and comfortable stay, such as a fully equipped kitchen, air-con in both rooms, toiletries, hair-driers etc. The decoration of the guest house is done by a prominent Greek artist and offers a very unique experience. Guest access The Mansion is located in a very quiet and family-friendly neighborhood. The Guest House and its gardens and terraces are fully independent and accessible to the guests only. At the guests arrival and departure luggage is transferred from the port to the mansion and to the port again, for free by mules. Other things to note The Mansion is at the top of a small hill on the west side of the port of Hydra. It a takes 15 minutes’ walk through the islands’ narrow streets with lots of steps to get from the port to the mansion. It is not advisable for unfit persons or very young children.
